Is There Any Post Control on Here

Feedback

Notice last few days loads of posts with no price, clearly by the person who is selling them or just completely non existent deals. Surely there should be some sort of admin to avoid putting people off what is otherwise a great site

Hi AdamSnell 🙂 there are admins and a great team of volunteer mentors. However we do rely on members of the community to report posts that break the rules. You can do this by clicking the three dots on a post and then one of us will get alerted so we can handle it 👍

serioulsy kelsey if you search just amazon deals at the moment there are 25 deals on the first page with no mention of price and most of those are either retail price or just rubbish deals. thats over 50% of the page with rubbish which suggests it's not really being kept an eye on. the highlight being a wireless unofficial PS4 controller for £59.99 which is more than a official one.

AdamSnell Morning!

We never like to hear that people are disappointed with the content on Latest Deals - we'll try harder! 💪

It's no excuse but for context we are a very small team and - on a sunny bank holiday weekend - it can be difficult to have the site actively monitored all the time.

I would still urge everyone to report deals they see missing prices or breaking rules. It does help tremendously and hopefully doesn't take very long - if you have any ideas as to how we could improve/speed up the reporting process please let us know 🙂

As a heads up - we don't actively moderate posts for the quality of a deal and instead rely on the voting system and comments to separate the great deals from the ordinary (or bad!) deals. As with all aspects of LD if you feel it should work differently please do create a feedback topic in chat and we can open the discussion up to the community.

I agree too AdamSnell - noticed that in the last hour there have been loads posted, mostly by the same couple of people and minutes apart - Kelsey, if we report one of the posts and add a comment about all the other posts by the same person / people, will you look at all of them, as there are too many to report individually. I‘ll add I have seen a LOT of products that have been posted on Amazon ‘discount’ sites today also posted here (without prices etc).

Morning GirlieWhirlie 🙂

Yes if you leave a comment in the report we'll always read that and investigate it too!

With moderating posts it's sometimes a difficult line to walk as often retailers spamming their own goods can look similar to new bargain hunters just trying to help and not quite yet getting to grips with how LD works.

We're actively trying to give people the benefit of the doubt as we don't want to become a ban-happy community that ultimately leaves genuine bargain hunters stuck out of the LD community. This is a work in progress that we're still trying to master!
