Just put normal pants on once child is wet change them and say if need to wet yourself use potty toilet. Buying pants that fell like nappies is not training

Get a rewards chart and make a big fuss about every time he does good and don't make a big deal of mistakes. I found keeping a nappy on overnight until dry helps good luck

Don't buy the nappy pants if you can help it.

I can only tell you how we did it. Turn up the heating, strip child below the waist, stay in one room only with a potty available, yes there are going to be accidents but they are immediately visible and corrected quickly.

It took us 2 days and many Disney films but short and sharp and done.

We are not using training pants. Just normal knickers. Had a few accidents but not making a big deal out of it. Daughter is even really keen to help clean up the mess. Good luck!

No potty training pant will be waterproof. They will hold a small amount of liquid but most experts would tell you not to buy training pants. Use normal pants, have a reward chart, make a big deal when they get it right but don't make a big deal of mistakes, just reassure them and say you can do it next time. Try and stay in one room with the potty. Even once fully trained there might still be accidents.

We bought these

The child still feels wet and uncomfortable once they've had an accident, and wants to change . so they learn . Depends on how big the wee is as to weather these pants hold.

If they are fully waterproof they would be more like a nappy .

We started potty training when the weather was a bit better for drying the clothes. She's really good now at going to the potty. But has the odd accident in nursery because she doesn't like the toilet their. She only likes to go on the potty .

We also got a travel potty it's been amazing as they can go when your out then too.

We found stickers as a reward after going to the potty helpful.

Good luck hope I've been helpful.

My boys were lazy. They both had no interest in potty training. If I used pull ups, they just treated them as nappies, same with pants! 😩 I waited until it was warmer, then left them without pants (inside) for a day or so. I asked them every 15 minutes if they needed to go. They soon realised it was wet , if they wee’d on their legs! My youngest was potty trained in a week. But he was almost 3 when I did it.

At that age it should be straightforward to explain what's happening, buy him lots of normal pants, plan to stay at home for a couple of days and just go for it. You might not even need a potty. If he's a tall 3/4 year old, go straight for a kids toilet seat.

I just used normal ones. Although when my son was potty training it was the summer, therefore I just let him go free, takes a lot of patience but we got there in a couple of days.

I'm going to start potty training my daughter in the summer so this chat has been helpful. My 2 boys were a nightmare to get them to use the potty, so hence why I'm dreading it with my daughter.

I just let my son run free but when he was in the garden he would copy the dog and wee on my hydra lol so I suggested that he try to be a big boy and see if he could wee in the toilet and that seamed to work as well as wearing big boy pants
