The competitions are my interest. I really enjoy the process of entering and the anticipation of a win! Members are great to post competitions and spend time providing the answers.

Hmm i have posted over 500+ competitions on here and entered about 1000+ of them over the years and havent won a single thing - i think many of them are merely advertising and there is no prize - in the old days of the magazine for professional compers COMPETITORS COMPANION they used to follow up on the companies and check to see if the person really won - How many times has anyone on here actually checked to see if anyone won and if they were legit - I bet the answer is Zero!

I actually did catch one of them out - mentioning no names but it was a holiday and they made the mistake of giving the prize to a staff member who was listed on their company website - big mistake - posted it on their facebook page and quite a few people got a bit angry and they quickly removed all details of it!

Walkers crisps were also done last year for their football competition swizz where they didnt actually allow people to win by not printing a correct number of tickets or by sending the winning tickets to places where people are least likely to do the competitions and its not the first time Walkers were caught out they did it a few years ago i remember reading it in the Sun newspaper so if the biggies are at it you have to wonder!

I remember back in the days of SONY PSP, I won the fat PSP via the Jetix website and I couldn't believe when I received it. I do recall that trying to insert and removing the Memory Card was a pain in the arse, despite that all I had to do was push it in and out.. if only I knew it sooner. ๐Ÿ˜†

After that, I stopped entering competitions because some just harvest information so there wasn't even a chance to win anything.

Rockman I have a funny feeling now that they are not monitored and verified by independants that most of them are just a con and harvesting data as you say - sometimes I even wonder if BOTB is a scam?

Now that we have the internet, it is sadly very easy for scammers to host "competitions" as a way to harvest your data. Whilst I have won many great prizes through entering internet based competitions, I do most certainly agree that there are indeed many scammers out there.

The competitions I am particularly wary of are social media ones giving out ridiculously large value prizes. For example, the other day I came across this Instagram comp which was giving away 6 x ยฃ1,000 cash prizes in exchange for just a simple like and a tag. Are companies seriously going to give away large sums of money in exchange for liking their posts? I highly doubt it.

Oh, and I have also apparently won competitions I have never even entered. Such as the lottery in some foreign currency.

RegularComper90 Totally agree RC90 i just ignore the facebook ones total con all of them!

Instagram all that social media ordure i ignore it all now such a waste of time and a real danger to your security and avenue for criminality of every conceivable type i can tell you!

RegularComper90 Here is another comp site for you - easy one only takes 10 seconds per entry and i regularly get A ยฃ5 voucher - its a bit of a skill and judgement one but one of my more obscure comp entry websites!

I am a comper, but I do enjoy looking at the deals also.

The freebie section doesn't really interest me all that much anymore and anything on there which does catch my attention you have to pay postage for, which to me doesn't make it free. I am not at all interested in fabric swatches and brochures which there seems to be loads of. But I do appreciate that some people are.

As for deals, I enjoy shopping around and finding the best bargains, so I am regularly looking at that part of the website.

The deals are my preference. Not so much a brand but i tend to look for home accessories and children's items. I have lots of children's birthdays including my own 2 kids and i like to get good deals on good quality things they'll like ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Who doesn't love a freebie? But just free samples, not so much. I tend to prefer deals with high percentages off. I almost never enter competitions.

I enjoy looking through the deals that get posted, have done a few competitions but they don't really interest me so much, also like the freebies and enjoy seeing what comes in the post. A big thanks to what everyone contributes here on this site ๐Ÿ™‚
