Prepared for the Advent Competitions?
Competitions
Anyone else prepared for all the advent comps? Im kinda hoping there is more instant win comps this year compared to last year.
Yes but can you tell me more about these? Never entered one before so how do they usually work? Thanks in advance for your time.
Yesterday I spent over 2 hours searching and posting Advent Calendars on LatestDeals, plus the regular competitions posted every day, plus volunteer work as Mentor checking everyday website reports. This morning I accessed all Advent Calendars, updated the answers to those who have questions.
All this to see several people complaining about things like:
In the second window there was no prize
I do not like this
I do not like that
The link does not open on my mobile phone
blablablablablabla
I like to see how people can complain about everything, even when someone is doing something they did not feel like doing, and they are just enjoying it for free.
I must admit to being guilty of this but was getting a bit confused with so many of them. On one I was trying to warn others not to bother as there was no prize and the other wondered if I had not accessed correctly. Just to let you know your work, support and help is very much appreciated and I for one will think twice before posting a comment that may come across as a little insensitive.
In recent times, most Waitrose competitions have had problems with the captcha. I remember a user post yesterday "Another waste of time", so I accessed the profile of this user, and he has NO contribution on the website, only comments.
But the ones I like the most are those who comment, "This competition is not good, there are no flights included." This is a free competition, offering a week at a resort, or hotel, etc., and the people comes to complain that there are no flights included in the competition.
kikogpe I hold my hands up. I usually point out if a holiday prize doesn't include flights but this is not done as a complaint, more that if you can't afford the flight don't enter the comp. I hate waste and consider it a waste if someone enters a competition and wins a prize they will never use depriving someone else who would love it. I have not knowingly said that a competition is not good as I appreciate the effort posters make which is why I always thank them when I enter a comp.
Your input as a mentor and part of the community is much appreciated.
Thanks Jamala. I like people to discuss the competition / deal / freebie, what I do not like is when people do it in a derogatory way.
For example, months ago I posted 2 travel competitions on the same day that did not offer flights, then one user wrote "This is already your second competition without flights included, who wants to win it?"
People post competitions that are worth less than £ 5, and I do not see people complaining as they complain when a trip does not have flights included hahahaha Comments could be like finding cheap flights, best dates, etc., rather than complaining about a competition completely free to entry.
