Price of Light Bulbs
Ask a Question
Is it just me or are light bulbs getting so expensive and not lasting as long as they should do.
Just had to replace 6 in the house at different types and cost me a fortune
Yes they do seem expensive these days, but then they are supposed to last a lot longer. I don't know if they last for as long as they say they do, but we don't have to change ours very often these days.
It depends on what bulbs you're buying, I was going through small SES type halogen bulbs for the lamps every other week and thought the price of them were ridiculous, considering how long they lasted, the least wee bump and they were done, ever since starting to use LED bulbs, I've not needed to replace them yet, so I'm now saving a few quid.
I guess it depends where you're getting them from but the last lot i lot from Ikea where only a £1 each just for a standard e27 LED
Haven't had to buy one for ages . Have quite a few wall lights and was replacing probably 1 a week (used the cheap Morrisons ones ) . Replaced over time with LED ones (bought 6 -10 at a time when on offer) , not had to replace one in the last couple of years .
I have lived in my house for 5 years and have only had to change the bulb in the living room, kitchen and hallway once, they were the light bulbs that the previous owners had left in and they last us for 2 years and not at all in the other rooms. We have LED ones in the hallway and kitchen and we have energy saving ones in the other rooms and they have lastes us 5 years and were here when we moved in. I bought light bulbs recently for our new kitchen light, cost me £12 for 6 LED ones.
We have LED bulbs from ikea, wouldn’t say they were expensive and been in around 5 years never changed any
It does depend where you get them from, I used to buy cheaper ones which didn’t last as long changing every few months. Now I have more expensive ones they last alot longer!
I blame our fellow Europeans.
We should have 'bayonetted' them - before they 'screwed' us.
