Primark Cheap or Not?
Ask a Question
does anyone else think that primark is not as cheap as it use to be?
i find cheaper items in other stores
than what i do in primark
and they are better made clothes
whats your thoughts?
I still go in for certain things, like my sons basics, as they are cheaper than elsewhere, but I find that they are getting more expensive and are costing the same as Tesco or Asda clothing but everything is more expensive these days.
Iv just had this convo with a friend about Primark. We were discussing the primark pjs. At one time primark was the cheapest place for pjs / cozy socks ( we found) but now there pretty much the same price as many other places & not as good quality.
When I was a teenager it seemed to be cheap as chips and always my go to with my pocket money. Now I’m older not so much, I do think it has got more expensive and the quality is just so terrible it’s not worth it. I only pop in if there is something I need e.g I bought a pair of small heels (I don’t wear heels) for an event I was going too for £8. Probably won’t wear again so can’t really complain then.
Yes i'm starting to notice this too, especially with the children's range H&M basics are now cheaper and better quality.
Its not as cheap as it used to be. I do buy some things but i find other shops to sell similar for slightly more expensive but much better wuality.
CLOTHES ARE NOT AS CHEAP AS IT WAS A FEW YEARS AGO BUT SOME OF THERE HOMEWARE IS STILL REASONABLE
i have found prices to seriously be rising in all stores primark too i honestly think primark is over hyped unpopular opinion I know but I’ve never really liked i find better deals other places and e is getting more and more expensive these days it’s rid
They put up their prices every year, but thankfully they still do regular sales, so there are always opportunities to pick things up cheaply. Most of what they sell is tat, so it’s no better or worse than things you can get online
I don't think Primark is cheap, but their clothes are not as good as other shops. They rely on a foreign rag trade like most suppliers nowadays and its importing that costs.
Soomethings are not as cheap as they used to be. Somethings still are but iv found lots of places have had massive prices increases this year. amazon isnt as cheap as other sites now either
I'm certainly no fashion expert but when I look at clothes sometimes price is little reflection of quality. The best offers are sometimes the clothes that aren't quite as trendy and so the stores are shifting them at cost price or even a loss so they can make room for a faster moving line. I bought some Hitec trainers and they lasted many years but some more expensive Nike trainers were flimsier and the manufacturing quality was nowhere near as good and didn't last as long. I feel with clothes you can see and feel the quality in your hands and there is less connection between quality and price than you expect. Often the high end clothes is more about the brand and whether the style is in fashion. I don't find any shop has a monopoly on the best value/quality clothes rather the great value clothes are a small percentage of every shop's range.
It's like a supermarket they do low margin offers to bring people into the stores and hope they will also buy high margin items too. The knack is working out which are the low margin great value products vs the high margin products. Keep to the less trendy clearance clothes and low margin offers in any store and you will have great value clothes.
I don't think the clothes are as cheap but the quality is still the same. You are paying more for less, I think.
I agree, it's not as cheap as it used to be. Kids outfits from H&M were cheaper and better quality.
