Prince Philip 97 Gives up Driving Licence

News

The duke of Edinburgh is to voluntarily give up his driving licence Buckingham palace has said. It comes after 97 year old duke was involved in a crash near the sandringham estate in Norfolk..

I think the crash has put him off driving again. He has not been behind a wheel since the crush. And he has put is new car up for sale for more then he brought it for. I think the Prince is in bad health. And he is more under well then he is letting on. What do you make of it all👑👑👑👑👑

I think he's become more and more frail looking lately. I'm glad he's not driving anymore, for his own safety and that of others.

I think that is a good idea for his safety and for all of us on the roads. Its not like he has to use the bus now, is it 😁 He's got a whole staff to drive him around. I don't think his health is too good but he is 97 so he's not going to on forever.

Right decision in my opinion. I suspect that he will continue to drive on around his own private estates thou, but good decision to stay away from the public roads.

'Voluntary' probably isn't the right word. More Likely he was pressured into giving it up or told his licence would be taken away. This is just public relations spin to create a more positive image of the Prince. He was putting himself and more importantly other road users at risk. Unlike most, he has access to chauffeur driven cars, so he doesn't need to drive on public roads. He still has the option to drive on private land if he really wanted to get behind the wheel again.
