Problems with Ebay Seller

Ask a Question

What do you do when having a problem with ebay seller? I opened a claim as received damaged item 6 weeks ago and seller did not respond. I emailed asking that the seller arrange collection and let me know when as I couldnt print my own labels. Seller finally approved return label last week after ebay stepped in but I cant print them complained to ebay who have suggested that I explain this to seller- explained I already had but they insist I contact seller again. Feel so fobbed off plus the item has leaking contents and no one will advise how I actually get this posted! So flipping mad. Anyone know what my options are?

TIA

Maybe you try to go to your local library and print out the label if you can;t do it at home. Sometimes its annoying but unfortunately you won't get your refund unless you return your item.

I sell/buy on ebay alot, the seller is pretty bad for not communicating with you & being frankly unhelpful. If the return delivery is through Hermes you can print label off in store now I think. Otherwise you might have to try a local internet cafe or library. You will have 30 days from receiving the item to return.

Make sure return delivery is tracked, to offer you more protection.

Yes, tracked return is a must or else it can't be confirmed whether it arrived or not.

Open a claim, show the evidence and normally eBay will be in favor of the party that was wronged, so a refund is given.

However, if that doesn't work then there's PayPal, but if paid in collection then you don't have that option.

Most eBay sellers/buyers are generally decent and will reply back, but some will try to rip you off. I had an issue with a seller who never shipped my order worth £120 and thanks to eBay I got my money back. Maybe something happened to him, but I don't know and so getting my money back is what was my concern.

Here's another case that happened to me:

The U.K./N.Z. retailer Fishpond charged my credit card £91 and they always refused to admit they did it and even tried charging me an extra £30 for "cancellation fees", so I cancelled my card and had it replaced and called the credit card company. I got every cent back and I will never buy from them anymore.

Some retailers (Amazon) may ban customers for legitimate reasons, but I for one ban retailers from buying from them ever again as they tried to scam me.

Be careful buying online and always use a credit card.

Never had an issue with ebay sellers. My issues are usually with amazon sellers.

I only had one issue with an ebay seller and he was in china. I didn't realise when I bought the rucksack he wasn't in england. My mistake. The rucksack arrived with one strap completely not sewn in. He couldn't care. Told me to pay to get it sewn in. It went on for 2 months between him and me, messaging back and forth. I contacted ebay and they stepped in and refunded me. This guy had gotten loads of negative feedback, so whether that went in my favour. I got a full refund, then I got the rucksack strap sewn and its been fine ever since. I use this rucksack all the time. I would suggest contacting ebay and letting them know what is going on. I am now very careful who I buy from and always check feedback scores and how long they have been on Ebay.
