Ps4 or Xbox One

I personally don't have a clue but would be checking what else they can do that may be useful to you or other household members so you get more use out of it.

Also, saying please / thank you may have brought in more responses. It costs nothing.

This year is the new generation PS5 and Xbox Series X so bear in mind current consoles may start to come down in price in the next few months to clear stock for the new range. I think the Xbox One X is pretty much end of line now despite being the more recent Xbox One, maybe because it's using the same production line as the newer Xbox. It's like buying a iphone just before the new model is released.

Without a doubt PS4, Controllers are a lot better.

I'd say PS4 - that's what I chose. But if he's going to play with friends, then buy whatever they have. Now might not be the best time though with new consoles due next year.

PS4, I'd say although with PS5 and XSX coming out on Christmas it's hard to recommend it.

Id also say PS4 - note I don’t really play PS4 and as a amateur I’d prefer to use that over an Xbox based on previous experiences of playing on both. I would probably just google to see where to buy it but of course I wouldn’t suggest you buy it from a weird site (I don’t seem to trust ebay these days)
