Pukka Pies Prices - Perhaps an Illustration to Members on What is a Deal?

I love Pukka Pies , certainly the vegetarian or Vegan versions . But what is a deal ?
The same applies to many Supermarket offerings be it frozen chips , Linda Mccartney products , Chicago Town Pizzas, chocolate multi packs etc etc the list goes on and on .
Back to Pukka pies RRP £2 - £2.20 ? One or more versions can always be found at £1 in one of the Supermarkets , same for the other products I mentioned .
Me I buy such things when they are £1 (probably 5 or 6 )and consider it the normal price but would never buy at £2 however much I like them .
Do retailers consider us consumers stupid ? Are they right to ? Perhaps like me we all shun these oft reduced items when they are at the RRP ? Or maybe we don't pay enough attention to weekly changing prices which will add tens of pounds to your weekly shopping bill .
To answer you, yes, they do think we're stupid, and that's why they do it.
Just look at Tesco's continuously having the same deals over and over again, month after month.
Since when have Pringle's cost £3? And they keep on doing offers on Cadburys Mini Rolls. One month it's for the 5 pack and the other month it's for the 10 pack.
I presume it's the same (on line shopping) ? I go to the actual supermarket and have the price of stuff in my head . Can see if you aren't careful and you have stuff you buy regularly stored in "favorites" or "last shop" you could easily click on them and pay double for an item you normally buy ?
I refuse to pay nearly £4 for a tub of butter. I wait for it to be on offer (Lurpak and Anchor seem to take it in turns) I then buy 3 or 4 at the offer price and freeze them.
Come to think of it I do this with lots of foodstuffs.
Lynibis They do some nice Welsh butter in Aldi (£1.50 for 250g) which isn't too bad, but the best is Welsh Shirgar which is sometimes on offer in Tesco.
I'm not sure whether it's only available here, but it's well worth trying the Shirgar. It's made with a bit more salt than normal butter, so is lovely on a crumpet 
Was going to mention butter . TBH I can't tell the difference between Lurpak and Anchor (even on the Chip Buttie test ) ! So I pick the one on offer , as you say they seem to take it in turns to be on "offer" (and if it's a really good offer I'll buy 3 or 4 ). Are people "brand loyal" ?
I'm like that with large bags of crisps. There is always a couple of varieties in store that are half price. Likewise, I'm not going to pay £3 for a tube of Pringles, but happy to pay £1.25-£1.50
