Sadly too many folks post deals for the points . 3 dross deals equals the same points as 3 great deals . I'm sure it will be refined in time .

And would it not be helpful if members left a comment as to why or not they thought the deal posted was good (or not) - would surely assist other members ? You only get advantage of a site such as this if you add your opinions and expertise ?

Totally agree , the gift cards are a bonus . However many will still post 3x non deals a day - but I suppose it takes all sorts ? Personally I only post what I think are really good deals - sometimes for info sometimes for corroboration /comments . Sadly the comments are rarely forthcoming - Good or critical ! But we will get there .

To be fair I will "like " a good price on a tin of bins , but I quite understand why members will not "like" a £300 golf club or £900 Laptop even though they are great deals (I think ?) . I have said many times before it would be great if members would comment /criticise deals .

Golfforall people have said that they get narky replies if they dare to critique a deal, so they don't.

Personally I post 2 types of deals .

a) Golf deals - which I know about - so they are always excellent deals , but I quite understand comments like "what idiot would pay £300 for a golf club " - a fair point , but that same idiot (and there are many of us ) might otherwise have paid £400 for that same club at most other shops . So by my reckoning its a deal , though admittedly hardly likely to have popular appeal .

b) Laptop deals - which I have a smattering of knowledge (if that ! ) . So I find what seems a good one to me , post it , then hopefully await knowledgeable comments/ opinions . Sadly this rarely if ever happens at the moment .

Of course we all know 25p for a can of Branston or Heinz beans is a good deal and I always "like " these deals and there really isn't much more to be added - its a great price , thanks .

I would really like feedback from members , today a member posted a deal for Callaway golf balls @£21.99 - I commented saying - Great price but you can get the same thing from Hot golf for £19.99 and free postage to boot . Isn't that what the sites about getting each other better deals ?

Back to Laptops - I would love someone to say - for example , Not bad but you can get a similar spec model for £50 less at xxx- or for the same price you can buy from *** and get a 512 SSD instead of a 256 SSD .

That's how I would like to see the site evolve - as a source of information about deals posted , which can only happen if members comment on deals .

Meanwhile we'll have to bear with members posting 3x Amazon Marketplace tat (75% off a fictitious RRP ) to gain their 300points . Do thee members really believe they are posting a deal ?

Golfforall I agree with your summation, but sadly folk are as different on here as they are in life. I personally don't like to see small food items from various supermarkets with 10p off on the site at all. Most of us have a supermarket that we use regularly and it is not cost effective to travel around them to save 10p here and 15p there. If there are savings to be had then you will see them when shopping for the things you wish to buy. (I certainly would not buy something just because it is reduced unless it is something I need anyway).

As for Amazon. Many people have an account and go on the site regularly so more or less the same applies and it seems like cheating to just post a deal from there to here. However, most people won't sit all day hunting out deals on other company sites so they are the ones worth posting. I never, ever 'like' an Amazon deal no matter how good it is as I don't think the poster has worked for the 100 points. I like the deals that I may not have otherwise found but for people posting on here. On the other hand I know LD has a sort of connection/agreement with Amazon so I can understand why it figures so high on here.
