Queuing for Food - How Long Would You Wait?
Ask a Question
With the range of food places available these days, it feels unnecessary to wait for a table to free up just so you can eat. However, yesterday we waited for about 45 mins in the cold for a place that I’ve been meaning to try for a while now - and I’m glad it was worth it
the longest I’d ever queued was for a buffet at that was about an hour and a half - though it was good, I’ve not gone back
If I know in advance there is going to be a long wait then I'd be willing to queue for an hour or more if it's somewhere I really want to try. Although, I'd only be prepared to do that on a first visit or if there is some kind of special event. Otherwise, 5-10 min. I live in an area with a lot of places to eat, so I'd normally just go somewhere else if I see a queue.
I don't really like buffet restaurants. In my experience I've been disappointed by the quality of the food and you end up eating more than you normally would to make it feel more of a good deal.
Yes, most buffets are dreadful and I’d never go near them. But there have been a handful in the uk I was surprised by. But generally, buffets abroad seem to be good
I think the longest was 30min, but I felt it is not right...because u need to wait for the food an other 30-45min....that is long...just waiting....I can manage to create something amazing in 30 min at home and if I need to wait longer that makes me think....I could do it at home
That’s true - so whatever time you’re waiting, the food can take just as long to get to you after ordering. The food has to be spectacular to be worth the wait
I wouldn’t queue for more than 15 minutes for food I would wait up to 45 if we were seated somewhere, but stood up queuing - definitely not! That’s why we like to go to wetherspoons, such quick service and cheap food!
Don't mind queuing for food what ****** me off is that fact i'm waiting in a Que with people behind me and as they haven't got patience they push in front of the Que get served first and i'm still stood there ten minutes later and getting asked if i'm in a Que well yes i am but difference is I've got patience and don't push in like rest of them have done
That’s just rude. Definitely can’t accept queue jumpers. Usually people who try get a lynching
