Would You Rather?

Ask a Question

I checked other threads of 'would you rather' but they only asked one specific question.

I should like to start this thread where anyone can ask a 'would you rather' and then people would comment what they would choose.

So do you want to start is off?

I find these really difficult to answer, as I'd often rather not do either answer!

MeestairChrees They are hard to choose but they are fun to think about. Choose one that is not as bad as the other one.

Oooh me first,

Would you rather not be able to speak anymore or not be able to read anymore?

Both are important but which one will you choose?

I would rather not be able to read as language is a form of communication and is very important.

I would have to say read.... but even then, I’m reading as I said that! Most of us would not need a phone if we couldn’t read..... but I guess you could just learn again 😂

sarahgreen15 I've come back to this after trying to work out why those who couldn't read would not need a phone... please explain (I'm very confused) ☺

davidstockport How do you handle your phone? Do you not need to read what it says to be able to use it? How would you respond to messages if you can't read them? You would not be able to communicate with other people plus social media would cease to exist. Hope this helps 🙂

Letgetfreestuff I handle my phone to make and receive phone calls. I can speak with people I am calling or those calling me. Although I can read I don't need to, I even get a picture of who I am calling if I've entered it previously and dont even have to read the list of contacts. I think there is some confusion here - I realise that many use their phones to access the internet but there are many of us who use laptops or ipads and don't associate our phones with the internet. and those who do would still need phones to make or receive phone calls.

I think I would have to choose not being able to speak anymore. I think is is so important and rewarding to be able to read, and there are ways to voice your opinion with the ability to speak. But to read, you'll miss out on so much.

Would you rather not be able to open any closed doors or not be able to close any open doors?

jmsonl What a great idea! Thank you for participating. I would choose not being able to close open doors. This is because what's the point of having rooms if you cannot access them? But with open rooms it would be annoying but at least there would be access.

Ooo this is tricky as i need both for these seasons. I would say I would rather have no air conditioning in the summer I'll just have to open all windows and create my own fan 😂
