Have a Full mini National Lockdown for say two weeks
or continue with Local Restrictions
Personally id like to see a short national lockdown again as local restrictions just dont seem to work. People can come and go, from and in between these areas. But thats my own view
We have just started a three week national lockdown here in Ireland. No bars or restaurants open and no inter county travel. The schools are still open though. Maybe the UK are waiting to see if this has an impact on the rising Covid cases.
The police have fixed checkpoints on all major roads, including motorways, which have been reduced to one lane
Whatever happens, there has to be some consistency in all countries of the UK. No-one knows what is what and what rules apply to who.
Wales isn't going to stop infection rates because we've got idiots like Simon Calder saying that Wales is an easy option for a holiday and airheads like Stacey Solomon and even bigger airhead Joe Swash coming to Powys for a day out.
I’d rather have a full lockdown for a few weeks. A lot of people have no idea what the rules are in their area, or in areas they need to travel to. If it’s the same everywhere there would be less confusion.
If only it were that simple . A full lockdown for 2 or 3 weeks may well slow down the inevitable at the cost of millions more jobs throughout the country . But what after those 2 or 3 weeks ?
Then we'll be in November at the beginning of the flu season . We can't shut down the whole country for the next 6 months otherwise there would be no economy left and hence no money .
OK the restrictions are confusing to some ? So make it your business to know your local rules , if that's too much trouble err on the safe side rather than try to " push your luck " with the restrictions as so many are doing .
It shouldn't be a case of "risking a fine " - the thought should be "how many people could I be killing " by flaunting the guidelines .
In my opinion a nationwide lockdown will be a last resort (as it was in March ) to prevent the NHS being totally overwhelmed , could well happen this winter and I wouldn't like to be the one who has to make that decision .
Best way to avoid it ,or at least to delay it is for everyone to take it very ,very seriously and act responsibly . Sadly I see no chance of that happening .
Well, seems y'all are happy with normalizing lockdowns just as the government wants.
Sad times.
You obviously choose to be misinformed . The last thing the government "want" is to "normalise " lockdowns .
At the end of the day they want to keep the economy going , keep taxes coming in etc .
But think of the outcry if they did nothing , let us all do as we pleased , presided over ever increasing deaths and the NHS being overwhelmed by COVID cases .
A difficult balancing act wouldn't you agree ?
PhilipMarc I'm not American, so I will not reply to your comment because you've said 'y'all'
Oh dear, I just have
We all know that you don't give a monkeys about the law and the rules and that you will just carry on having no consideration for anyone else.
You are a disgrace and people like you are the reason that Covid is spreading.
