Is It Really Warm Enough to Visit the Seaside?

Other

I know it has been mild, which is nice for this time of year, but is it really shorts, BBQ and beach weather? I'm still shivering as it needs to be at least 20 degrees before I take my coat off!

lol shorts already? that's hilarious! what happens when the summer well and truly hits us (no need to answer that one! 😜) I am envious as I bet you don't feel the cold as much - I still need my coat!

im always bemused when the suns out and people need to be bare armed and legs. It’s still February and chilly.

I know right? I mean I'm sure if it were 30 degrees and even in Jan, it would make sense, but I swear it's only about 12-15 degrees, and very cold in the shade. Mind you, I do admire the enthusiasm - we have been waiting for a bit of sunshine for what seems like ages!

apexlegends911 I guess people are trying to make the most of it, as it will go back to being cold soon enough!

I think it's still a bit chilly, esp when the wind is blowing. But my car tells me it's 17c. I haven't worn my coat at all today and I've just got a cardigan and t shirt on. I did wear a scarf this morning because it was 3c!

lol your car knows best - if it is indeed chilly, you will definitely notice it in the car when all the windows steam up!

It has been very mild, but I wouldn't say it has been warm.

Can't believe it's gone from - 2° this morning to 17° all in one day. So many convertibles with tops down but any excuse for them (and why do they never get covered in bird poo). 3 seasons all in one day, no global warming here

If it was october, november and this temp people wouldnt be in shorts! Beach is much colder, drove back from parents and when i got back to surrey it was lovely and warm, t shirt weather but not beach and bbq weather! Seeing pics in paper with people on beach sunbathing and in sea, surely they got to be last year pics or there crazy!

lol I know what you mean - seeing the enthusiasm of some people does amaze me, although it is generally good to see that people are getting into the spirit of things to come

I live walking distance from the seaside and had to drive along the seafront today while working. Anyone would think it was midsummer! It was heaving with arcades open, people strolling, on the beach, on the lawns opposite. I was quite jealous lol!
