Recipes to Use up Condensed Milk?

Ask a Question

We made a recipe yesterday with condensed milk but it only used half of the tin and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions of recipes so that I can use up the rest of the tin, and dont really want to just throw that money down the sink. Thanks so much for any suggestions!

Barraquito coffee, a drink from Tenerife (and La Palma). It's really delicious; you can find the recipe here - https://www.webtenerife.co.uk/blog/2013/02/barraquito-recipe/

Coconut Ice

500g icing sugar

400g can condensed milk

400g desiccated coconut

Pink food colouring.

Mix icing sugar and milk then knead with hands. Add coconut and continue to knead. Hard work and takes a while. Halve mixture and add pink colouring to half and mix well.

Push one lot into cling film lined tin and level out, I use a potato masher. Put other half on top and level out.

Allow to set for a few hours or overnight, it doesn't say fridge but I would. When set cut into squares.

kitty1 and nicolajaynehend Well it is certainly good for rotting the teeth! I guess you could add to the mix with fruit and nuts, flavouring etc. Don't forget the coconut!

Later, I will add an even yummier recipe with condensed milk. Watch this space!

Baileys Fudge.................@kitty1 nicolajaynehend

397g condensed milk (1 tin)

300g dark choc 300g milk choc

75g icing sugar

125ml Baileys

Line a tin with parchment, put all choc and condensed milk in heavy based saucepan. Melt on low heat, stirring often so choc doesn't catch on bottom and burn and so all ingredients well mixed.

When melted, add Baileys and combine, might need a bit of beating. Add icing sugar and combine again, might take some more beating, but worth it!

Pour into the lined tin, smooth over and store in fridge for minimum of 5 to 6 hours. Preferably overnight.

Once set remove from tin and cut into squares.

Lasts in fridge for 2 to 3 weeks.

You can use all dark choc but not all milk choc. Can use other flavours of Baileys, in fact I can't see why you cannot use other cream liqueurs or tia maria, kahlua etc.I

You don't want to know the nutritional facts/value!!!!!

Sorry guys, went back to find my own recipe as I bought the ingredients yesterday and realised I had put 125g of baileys when of course it should be 125ml, so have now edited it.

When i lived at my parents i used to make banoffee pie with condensed milk by boiling the cans to make the caramel. I know your can is open so you cant do this & you can also buy the tins of caramel now but its a great recipe for next time πŸ‘πŸ» I havent made it for years because my wife doesnt like fruit in dessert and id end up eating it all to myself 🀣

As kids we used to make up a tablet jelly and mix in the condensed milk to make a kind of Mousse dessert .
