Refill Shops-Do You Have One near You and Do You Use It?
Ask a Question
We have been holidaying in Cornwall and found a great refill shop in Bude. You can take boxes in and fill them with food or household liquids etc to save using so much plastic. I wondered if you've tried these shops and whether they work out cheaper or not.

I have a few near me and use them every so often, i enjoy using them and my local has a box with empties people have dropped off so if I ever forget mine I know I can use those ones up. If i ever have a few I can drop off I drop them off too

Chelsea0121 that's a good idea. Some people can't even remember to take a shopping bag let alone individual containers!

I have one close to me which I use to fill detergent and Softener.

We did have one but it was at st Ann's hospital shop but that closed down last year

We don't have one near us. I would probably use one for certain things, but I have seen refill shops in other places and they always seem more expensive. I heard that Lidl is meant to trialling a laundry detergent refill station in a few of its stores.

MrsCraig that's interesting. I always buy my laundry liquid from Lidl.

Grannyclock I buy mine from there too, so I was intrigued when I read about it.

I don't have anything like this near me but would definitely take a look if I did.

The lady in the shop said they have to rely on volunteers to serve so it's not a very profitable business unfortunately.

I don't have one but would love to try one. I resent having to buy packaging just to throw it away

Imnotcheap yes it must be better than putting plastic into landfill, but it will never appeal to everyone unless it works out cheaper.
