Regular Deal vs Good Deal
Other
Hi guys,
Just wondering if its just me or others too think the same.
We all post deals and there are always some deals which get plenty of likes If its a good one. Shouldn’t the person who posted such a deal be given some incentives with extra points?
Posting a basic/ regular deal is considered to be equal to a really good deal? Both get 100 points for posting nothing more..
Just trying to see what’s the point in finding really good deals where the finder doesn’t get any reward for it.
I know LD makes their money by making the link affiliated but the one who posts it gets nothing?
Just trying to find some answers thats all.
Thanks
Morning
Anyone who shares a deal does get points so they aren't left high and dry.
However, one thing I think we're coming to terms with / learning with the points system is to tweak things to incentivise quality content over quantity.
We're currently exploring the idea in chat of shifting the points system to reward people for active topics rather than just creating a topic. Nothing's confirmed yet but we at least like the idea at the moment!
I personally feel this may be something we can extend to the deals section too. Exactly if/when/how is still up in the air. If you (or anyone reading) has any ideas please do feel free to share
It is only my personal opinion but I really feel that people shouldn't get rewarded for any old deal or chat topic. At the moment there are 3 chat threads all asking the same thing about presents for 21, 30 and 40 year old.
It is good that LD are considering points for popularity rather than just posting a topic and I think the same would work for deals. Maybe 10 points for posting and after the first couple of 'likes' 10 points for every one after that, making the goal of 100 points a little tougher to reach but better quality deals would result. Notification only needed when you reach 100, including the original 10. You can always check how well it is doing on your own profile.
