No those working from home now to choose to. They are already saving instead of commuting to the office.

Pretty sure you could heat dozens of homes for the price of one person's commute ? Firms are now realising that their employees do not develop their potential when WFH . The reason being they do not get to share ideas , give and get advice on an informal face to face basis . OK it was necessary during the pandemic but most major firms now insist on staff being at the office if only for 2 or 3 days a week .

Well you do get a tax refund for working remotely, i believe, but it obviously wouldn’t really cover the cost of heating and electricity.

I don’t think remote workers should be paid more, unless it is enforced on them. They may lose money in some ways but also they gain time as they have zero commute, they also wouldn’t have wear & tear/mileage on their vehicle or have to pay to use public transportation
