Remove Points from Chat Altogether

Other

Let's face it, the chat section is full of spam and general chit chat akin to Facebook or Twitter.

Why should we get (20 points) 2 pence per chat topic by which latestdeals earns no commission on?

2 pence adds up for every member on the site and I feel this money would be better off spent on continually improving the website in the future.

Right now the 1 hour limit between chat topics just slows down things, it doesn't really solve it.

I didn’t even know that you got points for making a comment on chat.

Yes there are 20 points per comment on chat up to 5 a day at present - this might be changing... in fact the list that shows the points awarded does indicate that the only points that will be awarded on the chat section are for "Creating a great chat topic".

It has been explained by Kelsey that that the proposed change (although to me it appeared to have done) has not "gone live" Image

davidstockport No no no, you misinterpreted what Kelsey said.

"we are still exploring the idea of additional criteria to earn points in the chat section (such as the topic needing to get 3+ replies before points are awarded".

They are thinking about scrapping points for initially CREATING chat topics and instead awarding points if a chat topic ONLY HAS 3 or more replies.

Thank you kindly for your feedback, I know you have suggested this quite a few times before, and as with all suggestions we will review and take into consideration.
