Pros and Cons of Reusable Toilet Roll?

Ask a Question

With shelfs getting emptied as quick as they are filled im seriously considering resuable bog roll ( just for wees!). What are the pros and cons please if anyone does use them? Ive got lots of rags and a sewing machine to make some just dont want to start and not use them.

Ann1984 i did away with them years ago because we had a septic tank. Didnt even think of the amount of plastic they are made up of. But your are right, people are going mad for wet wipes now too, i thought it was weird today but didn't give it a second thought x

Just make sure you don't use surface wipes or anything not designed for those uh, areas!

There's always kitchen roll.....๐Ÿ˜‚ I am truly hoping that it doesn't revert to Roman preferences with a reusable sponges.....or leaves.....or the Sun. On a serious note my area have had posts where there are no rolls at all at Asda. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I never knew that was ever a thing...Iโ€™d rather use newspaper, as weโ€™ve plenty of that around! Or in Asia they just have a hose next to the toilet

Several (most) newspapers are only good for bum wiping anyway, but then I'd not want to give them my money!

My mother said when she was young they used to cut the newspaper into squares and it would be hammered onto a board on the wall with a nail ๐Ÿ™Š i dont understand where all the toilet roll is going and what its got to do with coronavirus.

KirsteyJames exactly, its the flu not the runs. Theres no bread, veg or bog roll in our local shops its ridiculous! I couldn't believe the amount of people in there yesterday afternoon all with shopping tollys over flowing, i only wanted 2 apple juices ๐Ÿ˜‚x

LottieMyya it is ridiculous. My wife went to savers after work yesterday to pick up some calpol and a man came in shouting that there was no antibacterial hand gel, the store manager said that they had new stock in yesterday morning and they had ordered much more than usual but it had already sold out. Apparently the guy was screaming at the staff. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Plenty of carex anti bacterial soap reduced to 86p in Tesco! Loads left and loads of Andrex & Cushelle toilet roll. I can understand why plenty of people would stock up on the hand wash and sanitisers but I donโ€™t really see why everyone is panic buying toilet roll!!

Sounds hideous if I'm honest.

Though not as bad as a woman who was in the news not too long ago, who made her whole family do it, even for poos... And she washed them in the washing machine.

MeestairChrees you put them in a bucket of bleach first and then wash them off then they go in the machine. Its no different to washing pooy baby clothes that have just had a rinse. I dont think she would put them in with anything else
