Ask a Question
I have recently done a couple of reviews. When 100 points have been offered. But only got 20 for one a few days later. Has anyone else had this problem?
https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/points
It says 20 -100 points for a review so maybe it did not contain enough words or was not of good enough quality. Short comments only get 5 and longer ones get 20.
And how many have people actually bought from these sites I have maybe left about 10 reviews if that
Hey JMHiggs
This is actually how we intended for it to work - we wanted to try and incentive people to write reviews for retailers without any (or with very few) reviews so members could get an idea of the quality of that retailer more quickly.
As you type a retailer's name in the box you should get a little popup letting you know how many points that review is worth
Stevo1283 Hey
They're currently available on the bottom of a retailer's page on the website e.g. https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/vouchers/amazon-uk
We're looking to make these more accessible generally and in the app too
Reviews for points? That doesn't seem too appropriate.
If people are doing purely for the points then it defeats the purpose of reviews. I ain't saying your reviews are fake.
Hmm , purely for the points ? I wonder how many sections of this site that comment applies to ?
Ah, yeah. I know some say others post non-deals, but really, it's subjective.
For me, I hate the LOL toys. They're ugly, overpriced and a waste of plastic (not that I'm a climate change activist - I'm not). Well, "hate" is a strong word, but you get the point. Golfforall
Hey Just to feedback on this - we did think about whether or not points for reviews would cause issues but ultimately felt that as the points are for all reviews we didn't think it would be a problem. People are awarded the same number of points whether their review is 1 star or 5 stars.
We do of course have to keep an eye out for fake reviews which is a continual challenge!
That's what matters.
Trustpilot has become rather unreliable so reading reviews there isn't worth much credibility. Who knows, maybe Latest Deals' review section will become one of U.K.'s most reliable source for customers genuine opinions. Kelsey
I've had similar issues, was hoping it would sort it's self out after the site refresh. I have written 4 reviews at the beginning of last week.I know they have to be checked but I haven't heard anything either way.I wonder if it was because I did the link from the email.....
beccatavender at least I'm not the only one. Mine took about a week to be approved. Too late for the 100 points.
I've had a notification that my reviews have been accepted but just checked and no points have been awarded JMHiggs
I believe the points are depending on the type of shop, Coffee shop, restaurant or whatever you are reviewing. For example Iceland offers 20 point but visitor.com 60 points
Best of luck
More likely a one liner gets you 20 points , a couple of paragraphs get you the full 100 . I did a couple ( 4 or 5 paras each) and got the full 100 points .
As soon as you press share the review and start typing the name of the brand it will shows you how much point you will get when you finish. Perhaps Golfforall youβve made a good choices
mso Unlike the majority on here I don't post just to get the points so I don't notice unless I check . I only post what I consider great deals to help other members , and that takes me 15 -20 minutes per deal to do it properly . Some weeks I'll post just 2 or 3 deals (if I haven't come across any ) some weeks 20 or 30 if there are lots around .
Too many members post exactly 3 deals , 3 vouchers . 5 Likes etc every single day . That to me is showing disrespect to the site and fellow members - and it shows !
A review needs to be at least 50 words, mine were longer, to be honest as I haven't been awarded any points for the 5 reviews I did. I won't bother in future as they took a lot of time to write.
JMHiggs Hey I've just checked and it looks like points were awarded? You can always check yourself by looking at the points page and scrolling down - https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/points
Just as a heads up, points aren't awarded instantly for reviews - we hand check each review (to check people haven't written jibberish, that they aren't clearly fake or copied from elsewhere) and so sometimes it can take 3-4 days before they're added
Yesterday in my notifications I was told 4 reviews had been approved. I have checked my points and so far no points have been awarded I even went back a week to see if they were awarded & I hadn't noticed, but nothing so far Kelsey
beccatavender Sorry to hear that! If you could drop us a message via the contact form we can look into it and get any points due awarded for you
