Been looking for a couple of washable face coverings in case I need to go somewhere where they are required (bus/train/hospital etc ) .
So been looking at reviews to try and gauge comfort ,durability etc .
You know what ! I am absolutely shocked , disappointed , worried about the total stupidity of the majority of reviewers .
Now if anyone is stupid enough to labour under the illusion that face masks/coverings protect the wearer then they really should educate themselves their friends and families .
Surely after 2 months of publicity only the terminally dense could fail to understand their purpose ? Yet "too thin to stop you breathing the virus in " , "won't stop the particles " etc etc are all over 90% the reviews .
It annoys me massively that so much information is freely available that surely even the most stupid person must know that a mask will not protect the wearer , they can even be dangerous to the wearer if not used probably .
Sorry but idiots are going to prolong this pandemic because they can't be bothered or are too stupid to understand it .
A face mask/ covering is to protect others from the wearers coughs sneezes etc - not to protect the wearer , yet about 90% of reviewers of masks /coverings seem oblivious of this basic fact ! Read a few you'll see what I mean .
If any members think a face mask will protect themselves then please educate yourself as a priority .
I totally agree we should all wear masks where social distancing is not possible but not for the reason most appear to think .
The safest way to beat this virus is to assume everyone (including yourself ) has it and act accordingly - something I am sadly not seeing much of .
I am surprised that you have lived in this world for ? years and seem surprised that there are so many thick and stupid people. From an early age I sussed this. Those who think characters on TV are actually real, those who don't understand that constantly eating junk makes you fat, those who think smoking substances does no harm, the first time you have sex you can't get pregnant, that ingesting or injecting disinfectant will keep you covid free. I could go on but what is the point? Unless you are mentally ill (and I don't mean feeling a bit low) there is no excuse for ignorance and everyone has the ability and tools to improve their brainpower if they can be bothered to do so.
I heartily agree , however its where these terminally dumb folk get their information from that worries me .
Unless you are going to wear a deep sea diver's outfit you cannot fully protect yourself when out and about . The only safe way is to treat everyone (yourself included) as infected .
A simple message that would surely be understood by even the thickest and would potentially save many lives .
Next problem ...... what to do with all the "disposable" face masks strewn all over our streets , beaches and countryside ? France has the right idea Euro 100 on the spot fine .
There also seems to be something going round about wearing a mask weakens your immune system
I suspect that is only going around in the heads of the Snowflakes -The "entitled" generation.
