The US sitcom Roseanne is set for a revival, ABC network bosses have confirmed after competing with Netflix to restart the show two decades after it ended.
Most of its original cast will return for next year's eight-episode revival.
Roseanne aired for nine seasons in the late 1980s and through the 1990s.
Original cast members Roseanne Barr (Roseanne), John Goodman (Dan), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Michael Fishman (D.J.) and Lecy Goranson (Becky) have all been confirmed. But Johnny Galecki, who played David, is busy with his role as Dr Leonard Hofstadter in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
Dan died of a heart attack in original series so are they going to say it was a dream like Dallas ?
A new-ish show with a laughtrack now that's something not too often nowadays and I'm glad because it just forces laughs out of the viewers, and tells when the viewer should laugh. What's worse is when a show with a laughtrack has it removed and is visible just how dead the spirit of it really is.
Take Big Bang Theory for example.
I also tried the ever so popular Friends for a couple of episodes but didn't find it funny either. I suppose those who usually praise it it's due to nostalgia.
But it's not all bad, Married with Children is genuinely a comedy show even with the laughtracks' added on it.
P.S. It may be a live audience but they're still told when to laugh for the timed pauses per scene.
