Rubbish Bins

Ask a Question

My rubbish bins were replaced a couple of days ago, but my next-door neighbour's weren't. His old rubbish bins were removed but for some reason the Council did not give him new bins. Now he puts his my bins. What should I do? I phoned the council and asked them if they can send him bins but they told me he had to apply himself. I'm not sure he is going to because he is a pretty strange guy...

Regarding him putting rubbish in your bins- did you make a complaint about that with the council? If he's not supposed to do that then they should follow it up and maybe contact him about it. Then he might figure out that he'll have to get his own.

I'm a bit hesitant to complain as I don't to maintain a neutral relationship with him. He's such a strange person

Is it obstructing your own waste disposal ? Chap his door and ask. You can still socially distance to get to the bottom of it. 🚮

I used to have a neighbour who put their rubbish in my bin when theirs was full. I used to take it out and put it next to theirs. When that didn't work I got a lock on the bin so they couldn't do it anymore. I lived in a block of flats so couldn't prove exactly which neighbour it was. It might sound extreme putting a lock on the bin but I was sick of constantly taking their rubbish out of my bin. If there had been room for their rubbish and mine in the bin then fine, but their wasn't and as it was for my rubbish, I made sure it was my rubbish that went in it.

I would have put a lock on my bin, but I know that this will not stop my neighbour from piling his rubbish right next to my bin. This would look even less unaesthetic lol
