Sainsburys vs Asda?
Other
Very nosey as to what people's preferences are, like to see different views and opinions..
Well that might not be the question in the future as they are looking to merge, but Asda is cheaper and Sainsburys with a bit more quality
Well I'm going to have to go with Asda as we don't have a Saintsbury in my area. But I prefer Tesco over all the supermarket. Great quality at a great price
I have both relatively near but Sainsbury's has always been my store of choice. I ring the changes with Asda or Tesco sometimes as they have large free car parks. I have lost count of the times I have turned up at Sainsbury's with no change for the machine, (no money at all as I pay by debit card for the groceries) so then another drive to another store!
I do prefer Sainsbury's but tend to buy their special offers as they are more expensive than Asda, I find that the quality is better at Sainsbury's especially on fresh meat and veg
Asda is cheaper overall, but Sainsburys have better quality products, and I prefer the store layout (has more ambience). And I rarely have issues with their self checkout tills, and they readily accept coupons. Asda can be hit and miss
My local asda and sainsbury are too far away. We only go if we have to the retail park for other things, I like both of them though, especially the clothing sections.
We all might get the best of both
A court has ruled that the CMA’s verdict on the proposed Sainsbury’s-Asda merger will be delayed by almost two months to the end of April.
Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl and Waitrose have all expressed concerns about price rises and competition fairness while the National Farmers’ Union warned that the merger could reduce the choice and innovation of products and increase the squeeze on farmers.
Sainsbury’s chief executive Mike Coupe previously said the merger would lead to £500 million in cost savings and further investment to lower prices by around 10 per cent on everyday items.
Sainsbury's, simply because I don't have an Asda near me, so rarely get a chance to shop there
I regularly frequent both so bit difficult to choose one or the other.
They both also tend to have the best deals/offers when it comes to the bakery in the evening. I specifically choose Asda for their croissants and Sainsburys for their cookies!
