How to save Money on Holiday
Money Saving
Im going on a weeks holiday near Bridlington and the budget is very tight so wondered if any one knew any good deals near there or has any tips on saving money in general. Thanks in advance
My cousin is a pro at stuff like this she usually buys her food/snacks from poundland, Heron and Aldi. She packs the food with her or buys it when she gets there so she doesnt go to cafe and restaurants for 3 meals a day. She usually trys comparison website to find cheapest hotel in the area. Also try comparison websites for your travel to see if it would be cheaper to drive there yourself, get train or get megabus.
Take your own teabags and coffee and a travel kettle if there isnt any facilities to make it W
A sandwich maker is another thing you could take
I have never done this but if you bought a loaf of bread , some butter and cheese and ham for example you would have all you need for a quick meal with drinks
You might need to buy some plastic plates and cutlery or take your own and dont forget a little washing up liquid
A set lunch in a restaurant is nearly always cheaper than dinner. Do that and have a shop sandwich for dinner instead. Worth taking a picnic set and a cold bag if you have one.
Search online for restaurants 2 for 1 deals and go the cinema during the day when it’s cheaper.
Take a flask to fill with boiling water and use those ‘posh’ coffee sachets in a reusable mug. I wouldn’t say they make coffee to compare with Costa but they work out a lot cheaper.
Take some food/drinks with you if you can as that's always a big expense. Anywhere you're looking to go look to see if there are any vouchers etc
Always research the best prices visit cheaper shops for items.
When I was in New York I was tasked to bring home some unusual flavoured M&M's from M&M World in Time Square.
A decent sized bag was $10 - So I simply went 2 blocks to the Walgreens Supermarket and bought the exact same item for $6.
Also, If you plan on eating out, go off the beaten track a bit, you can sometimes halve the cost of meals if you are happier to seek out the less populated eateries.
