Scam Email?

Hi there,
I was just wondering if any of you have ever received an email stating that they have hacked your email and that they have access to your files and social media etc and will tell everybody your personal details if you don't pay money within 48 hours?
I would usually suspect this to be a scam email but they have actually stated my password for that email address.
This has really frightened me, I was just wondering if anybody else has ever received an email like this?

I haven't received any emails like this (as of yet). I would normally say that it's just a silly scam and to ignore it, but it's strange and rather worrying how they seem to know your password. I think you should get the police involved as it is a threat, harassment and they have breached the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
In the meantime, don't reply to the email at all.

I can guarantee this is a scam. The fact they are demanding money to me proves it. Keep the email and don't do anything. If they persist I would r3ccomend contacting the police z
I do not understand why would anyone pay for them. They are like terrorists, criminals and you can not deal with them.
The social media page responsibility to protect your details and should drop them a message about the scam email
