Its going to be a sad day in most high schools tomorrow where kids say goodbye to there friends not knowing when they going to see some of them again. They have worked so hard to get where they are

no end of high school prom I feel for them I do nerves kicking in did they do enough for teacher assessments.

parents with high school kids tomorrow have your arms wide open for when they come though the door 😭😭

What do you think of this?

My husband is a teacher. The pupils were in hysterics today when they were told the exams were cancelled! They didn't care about the prom not happening but they were gutted that they couldn't sit their exams and were panicking that the extra work done since mock exams won't be taken into account. He spent the whole lesson just trying to calm them down and reassure them.

Ann1984 really? Cause my son is doing a maths re-sit at college alongside his IT course(he missed GCSE by 2 points) and he was well chuffed he's not going to be doing it- as i suspect a lot of other teenagers areπŸ˜‰

Caz2 some of them will be absolutely delighted. But for others they will be upset as they have worked really hard and will need certain grades to get into uni or college and are now worried that they won't get them. I never liked sitting exams but I knew that they were important and that I needed them to get into uni and to get the job I wanted. This will be true of a lot of pupils.

MrsCraig am sure a college or uni wouldnt hold it against them under the circumstances??its hardly their fault,is it.

Caz2 colleges and unis will not hold it against them as it is out of their control. Actually there are some pupils who don't realise just how important exams are until they don't get the grade they want because they didn't work hard enough and then can't get into the college or uni course they wanted. There are plenty of pupils that will be relieved, but there are a number of my husband's senior pupils who have asked to sit a 2nd mock exam so that it can be put towards their predicted grades.

I think they could do the exams online, like on skype. Instead of written exams, do oral exams...

We used to have those any ways

I don't think it is fair for other kids in high schools as they have worked hard and will have no prom
