I had it in my neck, plenty rest, hot water bottle and tablets, also some exercise little and often. Hope you feel better soon

I use 'deep freeze' available in roll-on, spray or patch. Patch killed the pain on a 5 hour flight.

Hi, my personal opinion is that it is best to keep moving as much as you can but obviously if you need to lie down for short periods you should do that ( it's difficult as I don't know the severity of your pain etc) Heat packs or cold packs (these can be alternated even) on the painful area can help and pain relief like ibuprofen taken. A pharmacist can advise as to which pain relief is suitable for you if you are on other meds. Exercise can be beneficial too. It would all depend on the symptoms and the severity of them. Please seek medical advice if your symptoms worsen or go on for longer than is usual for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery 😍x

There is a more serious condition and I will put some of the main symptoms here for anyone else to see just to raise awareness as it requires urgent medical treatment-

If you have sciatica on both sides or

If you have weakness or numbness in both legs that is severe or getting worse or

If you have numbness below your waist or

If you have incontinence and this is not usual for you.

Please seek urgent treatment.

I agree with the additional advice at the end, it's not always 'just' sciatica. I find moving around helps rather than keeping still and if I can put pressure on 'the point' ouch, but it helps.

lilyflower Hi, good evening. Thank you so much for saying that x I wasn't sure whether to reply tbh as it's tricky online and wouldn't want to worry anyone. I agree it can help to massage the area or near to it a little. Baths and swimming can alleviate the pain also 😍

Lose weight - its pressure on the sciatic nerve usually caused by being overweight or having a musculu skeletal disorder like one leg shorter than the other!

There is a fix but i cant post it on her as it is illegal in the UK

But lose weight or try the elastic stretch bands used in physiotherapy!

I speak from experience by the way as I always try to on here and i cured mine in less than a month!
