Scrap Metal

Other

I’ve just cleared friends garage and garden for him and had do a couple of runs to the tip to dump rubbish. I sorted out all the old scrap metal bits and just took a boot full to the scrap man.

I only got £16.70p for it but if I’d have taken it to the recycling centre I would’ve got £0.

First time I’ve weighed in scrap. Anyone else do this. I know it’s not a fortune but every little helps 😊

It’s one of the reasons that lots of people used to get metal items pinched from outside their homes, and shopping trolleys used to go missing in my area 😜

SarahHorsfield ah yes, that was very lucrative at the time, and it perhaps still is, as a lot of places melt them down to make new things

you don’t get loads of cash. He did give me £10 for a broken cat converter of my old car. That was worth doing cuz I almost took it to the recycle centre 😊

Years back when I had my central heating done the chap offered to remove my scrap. I said no I will do it and I took the boiler and pipe to the scrap. They issued me with £115 of cash. That was a good day

Blimey that was a good day ! The scrap man said that prices weren’t that great at the moment but I was quite happy with the £16 I got. At least it paid for my petrol Even if I didn’t get rich 😂
