I heard before that they make plastic bags from crab shells and it has and antibacterial property so it means food last longer in the bag.

I think we should change to these and loose the poly plastics.

I agree. In a lot of the jungle areas in Asia, they’ve been using bamboo to contain things for generations, and that has antibacterial properties also. Its definitely time to explore the greener options out there

The BBC documentary on plastic was so moving. Anything to replace plastic is a good move. It is the unnecessary use of plastic as well that needs to be vastly reduced. I believe most fruit and veg should be sold loose. The majority of it does not need to be wrapped. I am still shocked by the number of people who buy large packs of small water bottles when our tap water is some of the best in the world. Refillable metal containers like they used in times gone by for engine oil etc. My local Tesco is small but they have no objections when I buy loose cheese etc and ask them to wrap in my home made beeswax food wrap. I coin their phrase 'Every Little Helps'.

Indeed 👌 Yesterday I bought a drink and the bottle it came in was so thick, i don’t think it’ll ever biodegrade. Very sad. We need the green alternatives ASAP
