Second Hand Goods

Ask a Question

Forget Covid, if you can, are you open to purchasing second hand goods or does it have to be brand new for you ? Does it depend what it is?

Depends on what it is . Electrical/electronic goods always new (no way to know about previous problems ) . Physical stuff like golf clubs , gardening tools , furniture etc if the condition is good and the price is good why not .

Golfforall I agree with you about electrical goods.

I've had 2 refurbs and they are both causing me problems

TheChimp Yes some refurbs , maybe OK but what if it was returned for a fault that was never found and just churned out again ?

Love a 2nd hand bargain. Loads of my sons stuff is second hand, clothes, books, toys. We have hand me downs from my parents in our house. I wouldn't buy 2nd hand electrical items unless it was from a proper shop where all safety checks had been carried out.

Normally go for used items if the price is right and condition.

I'm not concerned about COVID.

Love a good bargain!

Why not ... I will always be careful about what I buy but so often people sell items that have hardly been used ๐Ÿ˜Š

I have a few household things second hand but not clothes. Now hereโ€™s the sob story, being the youngest child I never had new clothes unless i asked for them as my Christmas present.

Love a good second hand bargain, have picked up some brilliant things off freecycle for my Granddaughter, once outgrown I will put them back into freecycle.

Yeah probably a quick wipe over with a strong detergent will do the job

Iโ€™m fine with quality seconds, and even if itโ€™s a bit damaged, Iโ€™d still buy it if itโ€™s cheap enough and worth it. Some people discard things that are perfectly fine

I love my little second hand laptops and netbooks. The older the Windows operating system then better. Just buy a boot disc of a different operating system or get Tinfoil Linux. Gotta love those penguins. Noot!!! Noot!!!

Second hand stuff is fine, especially if it's an unwanted present, although I buy new electrical items, as refurbished don't last that long. Love it when you find clothes in shops, brand new with tags in charity shops.

I don't know anyone who wouldn't buy goods second hand. Mind you I suppose it depends what it was but I love a bargain ๐ŸŽ

Nowadays for environmental reasons mainly I feel far more comfortable buying s/hand and making use of something for an extended period rather than creating more environmental damage with new products. Lots of exceptions of course but where practical would buy s/hand.
