Oliver Proudlock Selfie with Holocaust Reference - Why Would Someone Do This!
Ask a Question
Even with Holocaust remembrance week, and I thought World 2 was covered as part of the school curriculum. Even at Eton, where he was educated!!
So, I was completely disgusted when I saw this article Oliver Proudlock slammed for captioning outfit selfie with Holocaust
I didn't know who he was, he's a Made in Chelsea star.. enough said. He should be made to watch the films from the camps and reminded how many people died
I agree with you B, a disgusting braindead individual
If you go to a place like this which is a memorial to the horrors of war you should pay your respect and not treat it like something to post on facebook
I wonder how he would have faired if he had been a prisoner there, he wouldnt have had such a smug grin on his face then
I also remember a certain royal giving the nazi salute in uniform when he was younger, another disrespect to those that died defending the country
I went to the imperial war museum over 20 years ago. They had documentary films of the time, of the concentration camps playing silently. Even after all these years I can remember how upsetting and moving these films were.
My nephew visited it and reckoned he never felt so emotionally drained in all his life it really left it’s mark on him I doubt if this individual has the brain capacity to understand the suffering that occurred
If he knowingly made reference to the book/film then that clearly wouldn't reflect well on his character. However, the book & film came out when he was a teenager. It's possible he wasn't aware of the title and this was simply an unfortunate coincidence. Unless you know what the book/film is about you probably wouldn't associate the title with concentration camps.
I really wish that celebs/influencers would double check their posts and educate themselves before posting stuff like this onto social media.
I think he did it deliberately. All these 'so called stars' seem to think that they can do outrageous things such as this and then just say that they are sorry and get away with it. It gets them extra coverage which is all they seek. Very shallow.
He would have to have been aware of the book in order to reference it! Very thoughtless and insensitive behaviour.
Awful.
My family and I lived by Belsen concentration camp for 2 years and the history we know about the camp and area is horrific. My husband is military and we did spend 10 years in Germany.
Find nowadays that these so called celebs (that do what exactly?) are shallow and attention seeking individuals whom think they are something special.
I can't imagine what you family has gone through and how offensive this was. I found it shocking & I am not Jewish.
My mother in law, talking about her late husband, who was a prisoner of war said he was treated really harshly because he looked "Jewish" and he was luckily to survive.
We also are not jewish, but I have jewish friends. I find it quite insulting, to mock the atrocities that have happened.
Seems like that boy needs to have a history lesson.
My great uncle was captured by the Germans and sent to a POW camp, lucky to survive.
