Sentimental Selling
Ask a Question
If you found something ( in your own home) that was worth a lot of money but had sentimental value, would you sell it?
It would depend on the circumstances at the moment living comfortable so no but if that was to change it probably would
Agree with the above comment. Completely depends on the circumstances at the time. I would try to hold on as long as possible, if no other option then I would unfortunately sell it
I couldn’t put it better even if I tried. For me would be exactly the same as the previous comment
I suppose you could own something that for example was passed on to you from your grandparents and you keep it on your shelf but you never knew was worth at a lot of money.
I would sell an item if I really needed the money.
I think those who would sell it just because of it’s value probably aren’t the sentimental type anyway!
Yes. I sold a gold medallion and chain that was my mother‘s but that my wife never wore, and bought earrings that she loves. If you don’t use or display the sentimental item, I think the trick is to buy something else with the money that will last at least ten years, or that will become another heirloom.
I don't think I would sell it. I tend to be pretty sentimental and I have a habit of hanging on to things, so I don't think I'd be able to part with it.
