Shampoo - What Do You Use?
Ask a Question
So there are many people refusing to use commercial shampoos due to SLS, toxic chemicals etc and many people ditching them for reducing plastic or animal testing.
Is soap bar betters? as they don't strip your natural oil of as much?
What do you use and how often do you wash your hair?
Umberto Giannini Grow Long, wash my hair every other day, vegan and cruelty free too. I've used soap bars but I have fine hair and they clogged it up so gave up
The most cheapest one. In my experience more chemical a product contains more dangerous it is for you.
Cheapest have the most chemicals lol
But yeah Asda Smartprice for me now all the way!
Currently trying that German Caffeine shampoo - utter waste of money but nice smell!
I use shampoo bars and they're brill! I found that my hair was healthier when I switched to them as opposed to bottled shampoo, and I wash my hair a little less often now too. I use Lush shampoo and conditioner bars, they're around £8 and my last shampoo bar lasted my around 10 months, would definitely recommend! You can get cheaper ones too from other places.
I've wanted to use shampoo bars for a while but I'll be honest the price had always put me off so it's good to hear from someone who has used one. I think I'll definitely pop into lush and get some now
I am thinking of switching to bars too. My mum has really Nice hair and she only ever uses normal soap bars as she feels she sheds more hair with shampoos. I think she has got it right of not using standard shampoos and now they are getting flagged for all the chemicals. And its only been like a 100 years of the shampoo revolution
HannahSunderlan I had that same thought but reckon I same money now as they last me so long - I'm sure I'd spend more on bottled shampoo over the amount of time a bar lasts me
shampoo is shampoo what ever on offer at time of buying just not shop own brand I like the ginger ones from bm and Poundland but they sell so fast and put on eBay for over a fiver
Definitely would recommend a shampoo bar over actually shampoo but i now just do a deep condition on my hair once a week as om following curly girl method x
Must admit I've not heard of soap bars but will certainly take a look into them now. Currently I use the Aussie
range of shampoo and conditioner and I wash and condition my hair every day.
I use the supermarket own brand or Alberto balsam as they are the cheapest. The price of the shampoo bars puts me off as they are so expensive and I can't afford to buy them every few months!
I just use whatever shampoos on offer, I like argon oil hair mask as a conditioner I get the one from Home Bargains for 99p.
I use Bed Head by Tigi - Colour Goddess and a lot of people comment on my hair. You have to make sure the shampoo you use is the right type for your hair because the Ph levels differ in shampoos and conditioners to suit your hair. I wash my hair every couple of days, shampoo twice - 1st to loosen dirt and 2nd to clean it. I only condition every few weeks and then its just mid lengths and ends as i prefer the volume of my roots without it. Always make sure i rinse my hair in cold water after its been washed though to close the cuticles.
I've just finished a tesco everyday value bottle that was 40p for a litre and I'm about to start the next one. I bought a couple when Tesco didn't appear to be re-stocking it. These cheap shampoos are definitely the mildest and have the least chemicals in. I remember on some consumer show they state that some expensive shampoo's were more aggressive chemically than carpet cleaning detergent. Also if you put in allergic reaction to shampoo into google you'll get some interesting images.
The cheap shampoos are really bad for my hair and I can tell the difference in using it. At the moment I’m using Rituals of Sakura Shampoo which is silicon and parabwin free. I also like the Palmers coconut oil shampoo. Since using SLS free shampoos my hair condition is healthier and it grows more
I also wash my hair twice when I shampoo and use less shampoo than what I was before washing once! And that has also improved my hair condition. I wash my hair daily normally, and condition about once a month if that
