my local shops have started running low on most things again.
i spoke to someone in the shop and they told me people are bulk buying, and there is talk of restrictions again.
Surely people would learn their lesson after the first fiasco ?
Plus people are now having to queue again. i didnt mind in the warm weather but its far to cold now lol
Our local bigger shops all have restrictions in place already. Home Bargains had no toilet rolls as of Fri morning. Its an absolute joke 
already? i can see where this is all going then... i understand people want to prepare but some people go over the top
I'm not quite sure whether you can blame people for just trying to be prepared.
I know that there are some people who will buy a little more than usual, but if everyone does that, there'll be a strain on stock supplies.
My local shops haven't got restrictions in place (yet) but one of them has had no toilet roll for a couple of days so it's only a matter of time. I hope that it doesn't get as bad as it did last time, but it probably will. Supermarkets/shops should nip it in the bud this time, and get restrictions in place now.
I know people are worried about the second wave and wanting to stock up, but we can't have a repeat of last time. If people just bought one or two extra of the things they need it wouldn't be so bad, but there are certain people who behave selfishly and clear the shelves, leaving nothing for anyone else.
I don't mind having to queue outside, even in the cold! I'd rather that than be instore with too many people, which is what has been happening recently. The shops are packed some days, and no matter how hard I try to socially distance, other people repeatedly get too close to me.
I seen on the news this morning that Tesco have put a limit on the number of items you can buy. The crazy people will probably just go back and forth a few times to buy more.
yes i think they will also. i have a rather large family and last time this happened i had to shop 4 days to get 1 shop. was a bloody nightmare!
HollyDolly22 it’s a nitemare isnt it. In lockdown if we were unable to get an online shop we both had to go with 2 trolleys as we were getting shopping for ourselves, my daughter as she has 2 toddlers And my elderly in laws and with the limits on items we sometimes had to go to more than one shop
Here we go again, unfortunately. Seen certain items shelves almost stripped bare in a few supermarkets. For some strange reason Sainsbury’s own brand £1 kitchen roll is nowhere to be found, in a few stores. Can’t work out why
Baldy12 that’s what we thought as during lockdown I could easily find these. Must be good quality if used as substitute
I'm going to buy 500 loo rolls, 100 bottles of bleach, 50 bottles of hand gel and then I won't catch it 
If someone tells you that the bottles of bleach and all those hand gels won't actually protect you very much - the toilet rolls might come in useful.
People should learn from history, but they don't. No wonder they make the same mistakes over and over again.
exactly! im dreading the next few months as i can see where this will end up. and it wont be very fun lol
I’ll be honest with you all. Most weeks I’ve been buying extra bits like coffee, tinned tomatoes, wine and tea bags. And chocolate so if there’s another shut down I have some of life’s little luxuries.
When the news/news articles show people with trolleys stacked high with bog roll and other essentials, people panic and the sheep flock to the shops and strip the shelves bare....they know people will panic buy after seeing these articles 
I havent been out for the last few weeks so cant comment what its like around here, but to be honest i think the media should stop reporting stuff like this as it just incites the minority of people that will go out and panic buy to do just that
I just don't understand how people didn't learn after what happened in March/April. I dont go to the shops so I haven't seen if my supermarket is missing items, but I have noticed on my last online delivery that several items I usually buy weren't available so I had a look around and big loo roll packs, some pasta etc were out of stock
thats crazy! i cant really rely on online shopping as i have 7 in a house and when we are low we get super low very quick! my sister does a lot via amazon though and i heard good things
Morrisons and Tesco have others will follow hopefully people will have learned how much they will really need from last time.
And a lot of shops wont refuse people bulk buying. When i worled in retail we use to encourage people buying more, as the more people bought there was money in the tills and then more money in the staff budget so they could take overtime
Just been to my local Tesco and everything is in stock no signs of panic buying, thou sensibly restrictions on items such as Pasta, Flour and Toilet Rolls but plenty on the shelves for everyone.
No restrictions at our local store yet but I can see it happening again soon.
My mum told me that in their local paper there was a woman who had bought a whole big trolley of toilet roll. I'm amazed that was allowed. We were in Aldi today and pretty much everyone had a packet of toilet roll in their trolleys. There were no restrictions in Aldi or Iceland today, but they were both well stocked, as was Home Bargains, so it maybe isn't as bad here yet.
i hope people were just buying a lot those days lol. my big shop (house hold of 7) is tomorrow so really hope i dont have to wangle between loads of shops
HollyDolly22 no one was really buying loads and loads today. Our Aldi, Iceland and home bargains are all next to each other so easy to go between them for us. We are only a house hold of 3 so my big shop is still relatively small. Our shops have been well stocked, my parents are in the highlands and they have said stuff is running low again.
I was at home bargains yesterday and the toilet roll isle was nearly empty. Only about 6 packs left. How much toilet roll do people actually need it’s totally bizarre
heatherduthie I know! My mother in law had typhoid at the start of the year, suffered with it really badly, still suffers with it now a bit, she stocked up on toilet roll when she heard about the shortages because she literally couldn't go half an hour without needing the loo! Even then she felt guilty about it and explained herself to the girl on the checkout. We always tend to have an unopened pack in the house as when we open a pack I will buy another one, but I certainly don't have a stock pile! I want to know where people are storing it!
MrsCraig I’m the same. Only 2 of us in the house and I buy one when I open a new pack too, was different when the kids lived here as we used a lot more. It’s the same with nappys and baby milk. People were buying trolley loads of nappys and old people were buying baby milk for their tea.we struggled to get baby milk for my daughters baby, some very selfish people out their I’m afraid, babys need milk it can’t be substituted with anything else and as far as I could see the fresh milk never ran out
heatherduthie I went to buy nappies for my son as he genuinely needed them and had to go to 3 different supermarkets to get his size as the shelves were empty. I got nappies yesterday, again we needed them, but there were plenty on the shelves, we went early in the morning, so not sure if that made a difference. Our son is on cows milk but I was very thankful he was no longer on formula as it seemed to be sold out everywhere. Very selfish of people, as you say babys need milk and we never had any issues getting fresh milk. My mum saw elderly people buying formula because they couldn't get UHT.
Why do people feel the need to stockpile toilet rolls? So baffling. The suppliers are not short of toilet paper. They never were and stocks will be normal again but the stores need to put restrictions in so their stock levels go back to normal.
Toilet rolls are in plentiful supply , bulky and cheap . So for a couple of quid the intellectually challenged can buy a huge pack of rolls and get that nice warm feeling that comes with feeling part of the crowd !,.Even though they don't really understand why they are adding to their stash of 200 + rolls still remaining from their March panic buy .
Probably forgot the essentials like bread and milk in their glee but they think they are being clever ?
They only let 2 people at a time in our chemist, but if there are 2 inside they just sit on the chairs and wait for their prescriptions, whilst we stand outside and freeze! If I was told it was 45 minutes for my prescription I would wait outside so somebody else could come in. People are going to die from frostbite!
Tesco has restrictions in place 'You have reached the maximum quantity of 2 for this item.' shopping slots are also filling up so be prepared for that again!
I have a TV in the kitchen so have it on as a 'Radio' and there was a young blonde woman with 2 kids on 'This Morning', (who had put on her best glittery top for the occasion 
) that they interviewed probably around 11 oclock (so you could see it on 'catch up' should you want) that admitted to stock piling, they also interviewed a guy who said warehouses were full to the brim with stock and that there was no need anyway! x
I have seen that some shops now have empty shelves, mainly in the household supplies area. But as long as the shops stay open, there shouldn't be a mad rush for everything
