Another Shop Struggling - Clintons

it really does feel like every high street store is going this year, but again, I don’t ever shop at Clinton’s as it’s expensive. I tend to get my cards from other places at far cheaper prices
I mainly buy cards from Paperchase and rarely shop at Clinton's. Cards are too expensive in most shops, but so are business rates, rents and other costs. Many more high street businesses are likely to go to the wall unless things are changed.
Again another shop that's not sure of its purpose. Is it a card, candle, gift, cuddly toy shop. These shops spread themselves too thinly, they should stick to the original plan and be a card shop
I totally agree and if they weren't so expensive and cut their profit margin they would do a lot better and double their custom. A piece of card for a fiver, just to throw it away down the line! No wonder people go to discount card shops
They already struggled once...or more times....
The cards are nice and they have better balloons too...but the other brand on the high street sells everything cheaper and they do the same business like Clintons...
Yes I tend to buy from the cardshop as it’s much cheaper, and tbh even if the cards are not as fancy, you can always spruce them up to make them more personalised. I tend to get cards with a fun image and no messages inside, so I can use them for different purposes
hspexy I am thinking to get some printed this year with my daughter`s photo on....it cost a bit more, but at least we will keep it.
Only a matter of time before the high Street disappears altogether .
Unfortunately the likes of Clinton's just seem to go down without a fight, Clintons is far to expensive for the modern High street yet as far as I am aware they haven't even tried to compete by introducing cheaper lines , it the old saying "If You Can't Beat them Join them" and this applies to established shops that now have to compete with cut price/discount stores as well as the internet. Nostalgia for established companies and the quality and standards of yester-year are no longer enough to see them through
That’s a shame because they do have really nice quality cards and paper. However even with just the Card Factory as competition, I’m sure they wil struggle as the Card Factory has very cheap prices!
