Someone is writing nasty comments

I hope not. I know that as the LD continues to grow, there may be some people who feel its necessary to put some less than helpful comments on here, but sometimes it’s just a case of misrepresention of their words, and other times they are genuinely trying to stir negativity on here. However, whenever it’s the latter, you can get in touch with the LD team for help. I believe you can also ignore comments from individuals as well? TBH I’ve never had to use that function myself, as thise who have been less than kind on here don’t seem to stay on for very long. LD is overall a happy, friendly place

Every site like this has its fair share of trolls every now and then. But they do get sorted out relatively swiftly on LD.

Only couple of times I experience someone's negative comments in here. In general this site has the most friendly community ever! Try to ignore it and do not take it personally!

I havent come across of any everyone always seems nice and helpful and curtious ... mind u if i come across ignorant people i can give as good as i get n they generally back off .. sometimes people read conversations or wise cracks and find it hurtful or think its aimed at them when sometimes its read in a wrong way .. im one of the nicest people u can meet but sometimes i like pulling peoples legs and can be kinda sarky and it might read to some as being nasty n if people think that of me i hope they mention it because unless someone is nasty to me i don't nasty unless they give me reason too ... joeE89 i wouldn't let the bullies upset u s we always get keyboard warriors everywhere on any site ... hope that u not been upset x

I'm sorry to hear you feel this site is turning into a playground for bullies.

It can feel like that sometimes for sure, and it can be very off-putting when you receive comments from trolls and/or someone being consistently negative and venomous.

But the guys who run Latest Deals - together with their moderators and helpers - have done a fabulous job of nurturing a friendly user community on Latest Deals, and continue to do so. IMHO LD is even better now since a new rule prohibiting political and religious content in the Chat area was introduced, and sensitive issues that have little to do with the site or deals appear to be discouraged.

I’ve posted over 6,000 deals on Latest Deals in the last two years and estimate that at least 98% of the user comments I get are totally fine. That said I’m not sure what it’s like in the Freebies and Competitions sections as I rarely post those.

Online, hiding safely behind their computer screens, some people are much bolder than they would normally be. They are much ruder, more arrogant, more venomous, and more condescending.

I think a good rule is: If you wouldn’t say it to someone face-to-face, then don’t type it online.

Of course leg pulls and jokes posted online, or sent by email, sometimes do go awry and cause offence. They probably would not have done if the person taking offence was in front of you and could see by your face that you were just teasing or joking with them. It's one of the ironies of social media – it’s made us less social!

I have only ever read one slightly sharp comment. Otherwise all comments have been positive. There will always be those who seek to cause upset and unpleasantness but tbh you just have to feel sorry for them, they must have sad lives.

Abiskup - I want to name and shame this individual. Sorry but the way I witnessed this member speak to another member was appalling.

Email them and speak to them, they are very nice and do a lot to help. You can also ignore the person so you do not see the comments. LD is a great place to be
