Need some inspiration for slow cooker recipes struggling getting tea late after work would love for it to be ready when I get in
Hi. I posted a slow cooker recipe book deal on here a few days ago. Recently I've made a casserole and pasta yesterday while I was home. I really want to try making a fakeaway kebab when I have the time
Billie I’ve made the kebabs a few times in my slow cooker..... they are sooooo nice!!! Let us know what you think when you’ve made one! Xxxxxxx
MandeeMayson which meat did you use? I've always fancied making it and been putting it off lol
Billie sorry, just seen this question! Use minced lamb! It’s the best! You can use mixed beef but it crumbles a little instead of slicing! X
MandeeMayson don't be sorry. Thanks for getting back to me. I will try that. It does sound & look nice everytime someone's mentioned/shown pics of there's
I enjoy following slow cooker recipes on Facebook, picked up some good recipes and advice:-
The page is Slow cooked wonders
The other day I did a pork fillet in the slow cooker with a schwarz bbq pulled pork mix. It was delicious and very easy to do.
Its pretty boring but i love jacket potatoes in the slow cooker, they literally melt in your mouth wish id put some on for my tea now x
Oh my tell me, tell me! I assume they do not have crispy skins but how do you do them just pop them in and leave?
Lynibis you can wrap them in tin foil but i just stab them and pop them on low all day. Honestly never had a jacket like it before, its perfect x
Hi Lottie, have just put a couple of spuds in the slow cooker to have this evening with a piece of steak. I will let you know what I thought of the end result.
Gammon in cola is a great one, super easy and you can use really cheap diet coke to cook it in. Just pour the bottle over it to cover and I leave on high for 8 hours x
Lynibis I just pop it in raw and cover it with the cola, I'm sure either way would work but if I'm using the slow cooker it's because I'm being lazy!
It sounds lovely HannahSunderlan I am all for lazy and tasty. Lol that would make a great title for a slow cooker cook book!
I love making stew in the slow cooker and a proper roast dinner by buying roast beef and cooking it in the slow cooker
I often do a small lean beef joint in the slow cooker with a plain casserole mix added. It is so tender, like pulled pork, and I do it with roast dinner. My sons love it when they come for a meal.
But a cheap lamb joint and sear it, in a pan warm a jar of cranberry jelly and a full jar of English mustard and a sprig of rosemary. Pour sauce over lamb in slow cooker, leave on low all day of overnight. Smells divine tastes even better. Eat with mash day one, in sandwiches day two
I don't usually like lamb as I find it tough, chewy and fatty. I would certainly have a go at this though as the meat would be lovely and tender. Also I love mustard and cranberry but usually separate!

Pork shoulder covered in apple sauce, cooked in apple juice mixed with gravy. Throw in some fresh chopped apples too
Going to try this tomorrow. Do you sear the pork first? Do you use gravy granules or a stock cube? Thanks RnD194hd
gerrykelly25 I don't sear. I use bisto best pork but have also used beef when I forgot to buy pork
gerrykelly25 I forgot to mention, pour the apple juice (use not from concentrate) in sauce pan then add the bisto before pouring over the pork in the slow cooker
