Small quality of life update!
News
Hi guys,
Just to let you know I made a small (but hopefully significant!) improvement to the way we automatically grab deal images and prices.
It should mean we're able to automatically find images and prices more frequently than before and the image found should hopefully be more often than not the correct image too!
Let me know how you get on and if you find it better/worse than before!
Thanks
Yep, it grabs the picture and price, but for example, I tried with this and it included the 'lowest' price (£4.04 shipping so just a tad cheaper than Amazon). The system does work but as shown, the correct value might not show up on the box.
And to be honest, I preferred the previous system which didn't include a price automatically but I'd guess most people might favour the newer one.
Hey guys,
Just a little follow-up update:
- I’ve made some further improvements/bug fixes to the automatic image & price extraction when you share a deal.
- If you share a deal from Amazon that has already been shared, provided the existing deal is more than 2 weeks old, your new deal will take precedence and expire the old deal.
- When you get a notification of a mention or reply, the link should now go to the specific comment rather than just the general deal/chat page.
Still working my way through a list of fixes/tweaks/changes I’ve wanted to make for a long while. If I haven’t got to one that’s been nagging you yet please shout below and I’ll try and bump it up the list!
Neato. In regards to the 2 weeks old bit, wouldn't four weeks be more suitable? A month for each would make more sense, imo.
Johnny Rockman Hi guys - happy to change this to 4 weeks if that's the preferred length of time. When duplicate content was discussed way back when I believe the consensus was 2 weeks before a deal should be allowed to be reposted.
I think the rule should probably be consistent across all retailers so happy with either 2 or 4 weeks!
Love the notification links! Can we make this happen for commission notifications too?
Would it be possible for LD prices to have the two last digits on a price? Like, £32.00 than £32?
Kelsey It did? Well, if the majority prefers it this way then it's settled.
By the way, the password on Android (Chrome) doesn't save which is odd as most other websites normally would offer the option to.
