Snoring Partner

Ask a Question

My other half snores like a dying cow in labour whose choking on its last meal. It doesnt seem to matter whether he is on his back, side or front. He wont use the nose strips or clips or anything like that, i sometimes sleep in a different room but was just wondering does anyone else have the same problem?

Yup, my husband sounds like that too! I'm used to it now so just sleep through it. Occasionally I will give him a nudge if he is really loud, but that is more so he doesn't wake our son up rather than for me.

joannecroston our son is still in our room too and luckily he has always slept through it. If I have woken up to feed our son then his snoring can keep me awake then. It's so annoying isn't it!

MrsCraig yeah it us but then i cant get annoyed at him because he doesnt do it on purpose, he often sleeps downstairs if hes kept me up the night before but then i feel guilty lol

Wow your husbands snoring seems bad. Suggest to him to see his gp. My brother in law had a small surgical intervention, the snoring apparently did get lighter. A friend also went to see his doctor after years of his poor wife suffering and he went to a sleep clinic just for one night. He has sleep apnea and uses a machine to help with his breathing and that stops his loud snoring. Good luck, hope you get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep .

Yes i have the exact same problem... the only way I have around it is that he gets up at 6am, so I have between 6-9 to get a peaceful sleep... I’ve slept in the spare room or told him to sleep in the spare room when it’s particularly bad... it seems to get worse the more tired he is..

That sounds like me lol! But i find that with the extra use of a memory foam pillow, it helps tilt my head to a position that means my airways are not blocked, so i dont snore as much. i have sinus issues, so when my nose is blocked, i roar as i snore

hspexy I'm glad you said that. Me too. I actually wake myself with it sometimes. Luckily my husband sleeps like a log but we are flying long haul next year and I'm already panicking in case I fall asleep on the plane!

Yes I’m lucky that if he sleeps on his side it kind of softens the rattling! I make him sleep in another room a few nights a week because we both get disturbed. I generally get the hump if it’s too much. I try sleeping at the foot of the bed when it’s in my ear, and I can get back to sleep. But if it’s too much... he gets evicted!!
