Someone Called Police about Children Who Chalked Hopscotch Game on Pavement

Ask a Question

It appears that complaints have been made to both the police and the housing association regarding her children for vandalism - chalking on the pavement.

I read this article to see whether there was more to it eg. kids acting in an anti social way, noise etc.

Nothing else was mentioned in the article, so if it was only for chalking on the pavement, I think these people should be charged with wasting police time.

What are your views ?

Some people would euthanise children and babies just for being born, growing up and enjoying life I am sure!

Funny enough I remember as a kid there were certain houses we couldn't play outside, due to some miserable person who would tell you off 🙂

There are always some. I used to have a neighbour who was a child minder. One time she apologised for the noise of children playing in the garden. I said I liked it as they were only having fun, but she had received complaints from the other side.

I hate to inform folks but this is the way that many burglary gangs inform other criminals and fellow members of potential targets . There is a code (Away all day , away all night , on holiday etc etc )

Not saying this is one , but it happens all over the country - ask any policeman , and if you see chalk marks appear on the pavement or wall outside your house report it - you will be taken seriously .

No wonder too many fall for fraud or scams -perhaps we are all too naive?

Omg I think that people have forgot that they were children once and they would have chalked on the pavement at some time in there child hood, I think that it’s nice to see children playing instead of sitting in the house playing on PlayStation or Xbox or a mobile phone,

At the beginning of COVID, when things were strict, the pavements near me were covered with hopscotch grids, rainbows, pictures and positive messages. It was lovely to see. Kids drawings should be smiled at, strange marks on gates or walls should be reported.

There will always be bitter, resentful people of any age who cannot bear to see others happy or smiling. I sometimes get a bit fed up with the 3 kids next door screaming and yelling when I am trying to relax in my garden but I always tell myself 'children playing is a good noise, be glad they are having fun'.

This is sad.. I personally get happy whenever I see hopscotch chalk markings on the ground. It reminds me of my childhood and it's nice to think that children nowadays are continuing to play this fun and free playground game.

We used to play hopscotch in the street N using chalk , some parents couldnt afford to buy the kids games so we had to create our own

There were always rope swings going up in the woods close to where we lived , another way we created our own entertainment, although this had its dangers Image

A definite waste of police time. We used to use chalk on the pavements for hopscotch all the time, amongst other things. Children will be children and these days need to have fun nearer to home than we used to years ago.

We used to use old bits of plaster boards that dad would take home from work always the one colour but we didn’t even know different colour chalk existed
