Sorry, but I Am Getting Really Fed up with...............

Competitions

All the winit comps being posted separately! If you enter these comps there is a good chance you do so regularly as there is no point otherwise, being as they are daily entry you wouldn't have a very good chance if you only enter once occasionally!

What do you think of this?+20 points

I wish there was filter for these as I get fed up of clicking on a link and it takes me to the winit pages. I have ad blocker running on my laptop and I get a picture of a sad puppy every time asking me to turn it off.

What's the point of that sad puppy picture anyway? Are we supposed to feel guilty for using an ad blocker? Well, if that's the case then it's not working. 🙂

I wouldn't think you have a chance of winning unless you diligently enter every single day, who has the time?

Sorry for my ignorance, I’m not sure what a winit competition is. Please could you share a link to an example?

Hi Tom. This is just one example of take a break comps, but once you have done all these you can move on to click on closeronline, mcn, Winchristmas and all sorts. I don't understand it myself as each sponsor seems to give exact same prizes. You can enter daily but with each sponsor, so in effect can enter for same prize several times daily. I suppose people can't be knocked for posting them separately but it is a pain when dozens of comps are posted that you have already entered on main site as it is so easy to just click twice after filling in your email once.

At least half a dozen a day now on the first page, I guess it's an easy way for people to post their daily 3.

CLICK TO WINS

‘Click to win’ are exactly what they say; you click through the comp after entering you email address. You can enter them daily until they end. You can enter these comps on all the sites listed below and possibly more. The thing to note is that whatever the prize is, there is only one of it but you can enter on multiple sites for the same prize so you are up against thousands of other people and possibly hundreds thousands of other entries. Chances are slim, but I have won through click to win in the past – it is not impossible. However, if everyone posted the click to win comps then you wouldn’t have time to trawl through all the available comps with other entry methods….

Hey 🙂

Do you know if every competition is available on every website?

If so we could perhaps detect one of these competitions and list all the other ways of entering automatically underneath to prevent multiple postings?

Kelsey Hi Kelsey. No, I'm afraid not, the larger sites like bella, that's life, yours, take a break & tv choice tend to have a l lot/most of them but the others have 'some' (I don't know how they are selected) and you are free to enter on every site if you want to! and have the time.... Personally, I think it could clog up LD if everyone choose to add their comps instead of the more individual comps.

I am sure tumblespots is correct in her comment and if so there are 7 comps on page 2 (at time of writing) all for the exact same prize! Fair enough of each site was giving the same prize, i.e. 7 prizes, but when it is just one prize from all the sites it is more than a bit cheeky. Once the prize has been posted from any of the sites under that umbrella, no more should be allowed.

Appreciate all this feedback guys 🙂

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how it would work ideally?

I totally understand how having a bunch of essentially the same competition flooding the site could be bothersome. However, if we restrict it to just one of the sites how would people track which ones they've entered and, also, how would the less seasoned compers know to check the other sites in the "click to win" network for additional chances to win?

Keen to help but not quite sure what the best solution is at the moment 🤔

I really don't know what could be done about this Kelsey, despite the fact I have a good old moan about it. Currently there are 12 of these comps on a page of 36 comps. The thing is these comps are so easy to enter and if entrants can be bothered to tick one box they will get emails and can easily keep up with them. However, to have a realistic chance of winning you would have to sit and enter scores of them day in and day out, even one click takes time.

It is so easy for folk to 'do' their 3 comps per day forever without bothering to seek out any really good, one off comps. I assume you are thinking it is too hard to find a method of seeking them out at source as if it were possible maybe no points could be awarded for these comps?

It does seem to be more noticeable over the last month or so. If there were some way of sharing when a whole new batch came on board it would be more acceptable but I can see that would be an IT nightmare. I am a bit of a technophobe so hopefully someone else will have something more useful to contribute.

Still there are many many Win it comps being posted daily as it is obviously a good way to fulfil your 3 a day. But so many are same prize offered by dozens of companies and in order to stand a chance you would have to sit and click through every one every day. For a couple of weeks i sat doing the Christmas Win it comps diligently every day but realised no chance unless I did all the others. It is very frustrating to keep clicking the comps on the comp pages as those who want to know where they are can click away daily if they want to.

I have to put my hands down as I posted lots of those competitions in the past as I was entering them daily myself but in my defence I never knew that the price was only one actress all of the sites 😳☺️I promise to try to choose them wisely in the future 😉

Don't let me put you off Marlena, it is just that you can get the same prize repeated over and over from the same basic site but different company name. I just wish they could be filtered out so time isn't wasted as you cannot tell until you enter. I always filter to website only as I am not on social Media. Makes it a bit quicker to whizz through the comps.

Frankly, you have no right to complain. Latestdeals.co.uk is free, you don't pay anything to register and they actually pay you for participating. In the end, we should all be grateful such a website exists.

If you are lucky enough to get an email informing you of a prize on Winit sites ,be prepared for a very long wait for it to arrive. They take weeks to send them out!!

Thanks for the advance warning. As you can see this thread started 10 months ago but I do not do any of those comps anymore. Who has the time to sit and enter every single one every day and some are now every hour. I am pretty sure they are above board though as a few people have said they have won.

That's not my experience at all, got an email telling me I had won a Bluray, got the prize 8 days later.

8 days Doesn't seem like an unreasonable wait to me.

I've bookmarked a few winit sites on my computer that I enter most days, but I tend not to post or enter from links on LD. Although, there are often winit comps that are site specific or only appear on a few sites that could easily be missed by most people. I've only posted one winit comp in the past, but I've noticed that when others post them they can get quite a lot of entries. However, it would be better to post a specific comp only once for each site, rather than the same one multiple times over consecutive days.

People find the amount of these competitions being posted annoying, but where do you draw the line.

I find the facebook, twitter and Instagram entry method competitions just as annoying, and I think there are far more of those posted than the "winnit" type ones.

Is it really so hard to just scroll on if you see a competition posted from one of those sites?

The entry methods you quote are all methods of entry that are perfectly valid. You don't need to just scroll on as you can filter your choice of entry, I only bring up website entry as I do not use social media.

Besides which, you can't just scroll on because until you click to enter it is not obvious whether or not you are entering the win it types or not. As you can see above there are scores of company names using this type of platform. And dozens on each platform. Basically people are posting same comps on same platform but different companies. Hard to tell if it is one prize from each company or one prize between 10 or more.

Anyway I am not sure why this topic was resurrected after 10 months, I certainly didn't do it. I now just bypass all those comps as I have neither the time or inclination to enter dozens of comps under dozens of different names daily. Those who want to post them and enter can do so at will.

blacklabrador You raised an excellent topic. I also see no reason to post the same competition, from the same company, via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. It's the same competition and the same prize, in my opinion it should be posted only once.

You are very lucky black labrador.I have waited up to seven weeks for a prize to arrive!Having said that,I have just received one after only seven days so I will have to eat my words.Maybe I was unlucky and there was a glitch on that occasion.Good luck all.Keep at it and the rewards will come.Never give up!x.
