How Much Do You Spend on Food?
Ask a Question
How much do you spend on food weekly/monthly? In my household its 2 adults, 7yo and a baby... roughly we spend £50 minimum plus few top ups during the week. I think I need to economise...
1 adult 2 kids (7y and 5y) about 60- 80£ per week, probably too much, but I am not buying ready meals, cooking myself, always get meat ,salmon prawns, fresh veg,and kids have fruits and berries every day, and I am not limiting them , so if they want 6 oranges(small),2 bananas and 2 apples, they will have it, as my point its better then eating sweets and crisps all the time .
There are 2 adults and a 2 year old in our house. I budget £60 a week for the shopping but never actually spend that much, it is normally between £45 and £55, but that includes nappies, wipes, dog food, toiletries, cleaning products, so for actual food it is roughly £45. I only do one shop a week, it is very rare that I do a top up shop.
Way too much! There’s 5 in the house and we all like fresh foods. So I’m always shopping. Spending at least £100/week :/
Single person with inexpensive tastes. I spend £40 a month total for groceries, toiletries and cleaning products. Works out at about £10 per week and requires me to be creative. The downside of it is that eating can be a really boring thing on such a tight budget. The upside is that when I get creative and open up some food in the budget for a small treat, the feeling of success is amazing.
MaxAllen including nappies, wipes etc. And nappies has to be bloody Pampers which are very expensive... I would buy cheaper brands but my fiance insists on it. We also always have plenty of fruit, veg and vegetarian option protein mince etc.
God, you all spend so little! I thought I was doing well on £60 p/w for me and two teenage kids. That includes household cleaning products and other non-food supermarket items though.
I used to shop weekly, but at the start of lockdown I switched to fortnightly and I’ve stuck to that. I try to put £10 off stuff away as back up each month too.
I now subscribe to Tesco Clubcard Plus, so I get 10% off my two big shops a month. This makes me a good saving on my bills.
To supplement the big shops I sometimes nip out and go bargain shopping - late night yellow sticker hunting and have three shopping cashback apps, through which I regularly get freebies.
I could probably get by on a lot less if I needed to - I make everything from scratch, but I’m lucky to be able to afford a few nice treats for the kids and myself. I realise I’m very fortunate to have enough to feed my family and never have to go hungry.
I do a big grocery order roughly every two weeks and that can be anywhere from £120-£150. We have top up shops, mainly milk and bread every few days. That's for two adults, two teenagers, a toddler and three cats.
£50 a week, 2 adults, a baby and a teenager on weekends.. we always spend more if we shop in asda instead of aldi or Lidl
Just on food for the humans, probably around £50 a week. There’s multiple food allergies we have to work around though, and that can be expensive.
I suppose so far this week I spent about £30 so far. I got few more meals made up in the freezer. But then I nipped to my local Tesco to get milk and bread... I left with milk, bread, yoghurt, chocolate and couple pizzas and £10 lighter!!!
BlueOrchid little shops are lethal! I think that’s where all my money any before. You don’t realise how much you spend until the credit card bill comes in at the end of the month
Two teenagers, two adults, it's about £40-£60 a week at Asda online, all in, and sometimes a top up shop of up to £20. Visiting the store always ends up costing more than buying online, so many temptations. Easier to stick to a list online. My husband spends a lot more than me, I'm a skinflint.
We spend about £60-£100 a week,Two adults, two kids,(depending on my 9 year who happens to have growth spurts every so often, the cupboards get raided )
We also have a dog&two cats, plus my son likes to take a lunchbox to school.
We do plan meals ahead&we like to cook from scratch, with a few convenience foods...
I spend around £60 a week for 3 people including a toddler. I spend quite a lot in veggie stuff which is quite expensive but I won't change it.
2 adults 1 child atm we spend about 70 a week and do top ups I try my best to lower it but I live with the most fussy people ever lol I end up cooking 3 separate meals a night
