The essentials Rent, Council Tax, Water, Gas, Electric, Broadband, Phone, wow that's half the monthly budget gone and by the time we eat there's nothing left.

same here really-those essentials that are obviously non-negotiable-they HAVE to be funded...we're good at being thrifty but, I hope, not mean or 'tight'.

For everyone it's mostly going to be essentials eg Morgage, rent, food etc that we spend the majority of our incomes on. That's life. I took it that the OP meant biggest spend on none essential/luxury items? For me it would have been meals out until the pandemic, currently it's on items for Christmas.

I don't budget too much with food choices but I make sure I got to the cheapest places if it is not too far. Other than that, maybe tech gadgets.

I am a very thrifty person and I don't spend money unless I have to. We don't do luxuries in our house, not because I'm mean but because at the moment we are saving up to move house. But the one thing we didn't mind paying for was eating out, especially with our parents. I wouldn't say I love spending money on anything, I just know that I have too!

This is something I struggle with because I think spending 4x a month money eating out is a lot but deep enough it isn't. It's a day out to enjoy.
