How Do You Spoil Yourself?

Ask a Question

Self care is so important so I am wondering when you have a bit of extra cash or extra time to yourself, how do you spoil yourself? What's your go to item or activity?

I have a hot tub in the garden so this is where I go for some me time and relax. Some times other family join me but it is still so relaxing

lauren4 Best thing we ever bought for the garden. We are hoping to move abroad once we are Covid allowed, not sure we will need the hot tub then, maybe up for sale!

I love taking long walks in all weathers looking at nature during different times of the year and exploring new outdoor spaces to walk in.

Before lockdown I would put off taking a walk with every excuse settling for a home workout.

It did feel good but just doesn't give the same mental satisfaction as walking in nature does.

Best part is its free.

Also love just having a simple cup of tea or coffee.

mmmm.... sitting in peace and quiet .... with chocolate and a cuppa .... perching on a rock outside watching the clouds or an insect/bird .....listening to an audio book instead of reading (feels so laid back) .... treat myself to something for a craft/garden ..... share a bottle of wine .....fish and chippy .... Yep ... I'm a flitter ..... even in my treats!

I don't spoil myself. I rarely have extra time to myself and any extra money is saved towards moving. Having a cup of tea in the morning is probably as close as I get to spoiling myself.

How do you survive? For my mental wellbeing I sometimes just need something. That might even just be a bath!

lauren4 I survive just fine. I don't need anything. I've never been someone to splurge on clothes or shoes or beauty treatments, so never going to spoil myself in that way. As long as my son and husband are well looked after that's the main thing. For me, getting a hug or kiss from my son is far more beneficial to my mental health than a bath would be, plus I don't have time for a bath!

Leannexxx love my cups of tea. I never have time for a bath. My 'me' recently has been watching Line of Duty with a cup of tea. Although it is normally interrupted by my son!

BORDERJOE nothing wrong with having an interminable treat time! My biggest treat is probably that my husband cooks dinner every night! He is a brilliant cook so I get treated to a lovely meal each night but actually treating myself by buying something nice or having me time, just doesn't happen.

MrsCraig now I'm a little bit envious .... my husband is great but he doesn't want to cook and can't ..... he's tried when I've been out all day/ill .... but it's been a fiasco .... and I've tried to teach him but he just doesn't want to know so I gave up! .... sounds bad as I write it but it's just how we've ended up. I have a brother and an b in law, both chefs so that sort of rubs it in too!

BORDERJOE my mother in law is a trained chef but funnily enough never taught my husband how to cook! It was his uncle and me that taught him how to cook. I used to do all the cooking but after our son was born my husband started doing it as he found it therapeutic. Plus it's one less thing for me to do.

I recently bought a footspa bubble machine. I've always wanted one and it's a treat after all the hassles of daily life.

I also like to get a Costa's hot choc once a month as a little treat 😍 what do you do ☺️

Ooooo this sounds lovely. I might have to treat myself to one!!

I do a number of things. I like walking along the river or by the beach. I go visit my mum (pre covid) and play with all her dogs! I enjoy a cheeky takeaway or a chocolate bar. Sometimes it's just spending time doing my make up. I also love visiting castles.

Watch shows (Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, etc), a movie, listen to music (Country) or take a walk/run.

I used to buy stuff and then sell, but I've got plenty as it is. When eBay's Β£1 deal comes on up, I'll use it.

I love having my hair and nails done, it always cheers me up, roll on the 24th πŸ™‚

Every year, for my Birthday my husband used to get me a spa day. However since I've had a back operation and find it difficult to get on to the massage table, I no longer find that relaxing , so he has had to come up with alternatives, I had a lovely afternoon tea which was great πŸ™‚

Avocados! I don’t buy them unless they are yellow label usually. My husband would say pie and chips as he doesn’t get them very often.
