Sports Day at Home?
Ask a Question
With my kids missing out on sports day we planning to do one at home. We have a garden but not huge, I'm trying to think of a few things to do that I won't have to go out and buy lots of expensive stuff. I do have little medal for each of them. Want to make it fun but with a little structure to make it appear like I know what I'm doing
Egg and spoon race, pillowcases for sack race 3 legged race. Could put some rice or pasta in food bags for toss the bag. What a great idea for the kids maybe could do a video with others to get involved in like friends and family
Rice in food bag what a great idea I'd looked on Amazon for little bean bags but cost too much and often too many in pack for one day. Pillow cases would be great size for them to use as sack too.
You could set up a small obstacle course with whatever you have! Tug of war (depending on how many of you there are/how old your children are)
All good ideas suggested. How about a dress up race? If you have hoola hoops or skipping ropes etc add them into races too. Skittles. Using empty cans/bottles.
I shared a sports day kit as a couple of months ago (expired now obviously) that had bean bags, egg and spoons, sack race and all in the primary colours that are familiar school products. (it was £6) This was a Donnay product but I am sure there are others available that won't cost a packet. You will probably have more fun making your own versions of these. Come back and let us know how it went. Edit - don't forget water filled balloons, there's always a game you could make up with them.
