Squashed Roast Potatoes?

Just out of interest do any of you follow the Jamie Oliver method of flattening your spuds? Do they roast better? Think they look terrible but if it genuinely increases the crispy to fluffy ratio I am crossing fingers for a potato masher to unleash Christmas day......
I've not seen Jamie's recipe but I quite like what I call crushed roast potatoes, I just par boil the potatoes and shake dry, add potatoes to the fat and then squidge them a bit with the potato masher, I always sprinkle paprika over my roasties too and sometimes add crushed garlic.
Do not need to follow everything star chefs say....may end up with a burnt house in the end XD
yup the only red nose I need to see this christmas should be on a Rudolphs nose as his boss makes his christmas delivery! He did this on this morning and nearly took off Hollys eyebrows
I saw Jamie doing that and i was impressed...so i taped the programme and was explaining to my partner exactly how it was done and how much crispier they come out...i even went and bought rosemary etc to garnish it....
HOWEVER.....im one of those back seat cooks that collects lots of great information and thats where my inspiration ends...he cooks it the way he wants....and i can foxtrot oscar
