Stamps to Go up on the 25th of March 2019

In the News

From the 25th of March the price of a first class stamp will rise by 3p to 70p and a second class stamp will rise by 3p to 61p.

This killing of the post. I feel sorry for people who has no internet. And they love to get a card or letter from friends and family. But this will now stop. What do you make of the stamps going up.🎫🎫🎫

Oh what..........not again! No wonder folk don't send cards so much and it's all online........soon the stamp will cost as much as the card. Hope you are keeping well Nicola.

Hi lynibis I am fine thank you for asking. I can see a day were there be no post. It will be all on line. Which I think it's a shame. I love getting cards and letters. They said Christmas just gone there were a drop in people sending Christmas cards. That to will stop no more Christmas card. It would same odd not having a Christmas card or a letter. But that's the way things are going. Give me back the good old days. 🎫🎫🎫

Lynibis - That has sadly already started to happen. I have seen plenty of cards that are cheaper than a stamp.

I agree... Every time they raise the price of stamps I usually send less cards than I did before. Instead, they should lower the price to encourage people to post more items ✉️

Hi RegularComper90 I not sure. It might. When I get letter posted that has the wrong address I send it back and I don't put a stamp on it. So yes I think it would work. But for how long be for the post office cotton on to what people are doing 🌻🌻🌻🌻.

I never understand why people say posting a letter is expensive. You can post your letter at the end of your street and get it delivered anywhere in the country to someone's door for the cost of a bar of chocolate. In the scale of things these days I think it's good value.
